The Tag Out alternative:
If a machine can be locked out, it must be. However, there are situations where energy isolat-
ing devices can not accommodate locks. In these cases, the energy isolating devices must be
tagged to warn employees that the machine is de-energized for servicing. The tag must be se-
curely fastened, it must be placed in a position visible to all and it may only be removed by the
person who attached it.
WARNING
To avoid damaging the collect&place head, ALWAYS observe the following points when mov-
ing the gantry:
NEVER move the gantry by pushing with your hands against the collect&place head.
NEVER push the gantry while the Z-axis is lowered.
Take hold of the cast iron part of the X-axis - ideally near the X-axis toothed belt deflection
pulley - and then move the gantry.

RISK TO HEART PACE-MAKER WEARERS
The permanent magnets of the Y-axis have an extremely powerful magnetic field. Personnel wear-
ing heart pace-makers are NOT permitted to stand in the vicinity of permanent magnets (see
item 1 and 2 in Fig. 8.4 - 2).
CAUTION POWERFUL MAGNETIC FIELD
Do not wear watches in the vicinity of permanent magnets since they can be damaged.
Do not bring magnetic data media, check or credit cards near permanent magnets - the data
on the data media may be erased by the magnetic field of the permanent magnets.
WARNING RISK OF CRUSHING
Do not approach permanent magnets when carrying metal objects made of iron, steel or nickel.
The powerful force of attraction may cause fingers to be crushed.

DANGER POWERFUL MAGNETIC FIELD
Always follow the special safety instructions when working in the vicinity of powerful magnetic
fields (see section 8.4.2, page 8 - 16 onward).
Move the gantry in the PCB transport direction and position it so that the permanent magnets
can be removed:
For gantry 1, position above the permanent magnets, item 1C in Fig. 8.5 - 1
For gantry 2, position above the permanent magnets, item 2C in Fig. 8.5 - 1
For gantry 3, position above the permanent magnets, item 2C in Fig. 8.5 - 1
For gantry 4, position above the permanent magnets, item 1C in Fig. 8.5 - 1
Remove the black cover strips on the cross-beam above the gantry concerned (3 M6 x 8 hexa-
gon socket-head screws)
