1.1 Definitions
The following key words and symbols are used to
impart important information and notes in these
operating instructions:
1.1.1 Warning symbol
The warning symbol
is depicted in the
safety instructions in the related title frame on the
left next to the key word (DANGER, WARNING,
CAUTION).
Safety instructions and warning symbols indicate
danger of personal injury.
Follow these safety instructions to protect your-
self against injury or death!
Safety instructions without warning symbols
indicate danger of material damage.

NOTE
The key words are in the title fra-
me in the safety instructions.
They follow a defined hierarchy and
they indicate (in connection with
the warning symbol, see chap-
ter
1.1.1) the importance of the
danger or the nature of the in-
struction.
Refer to the following clarifications:
DANGER
Danger of personal injury.
Indication of an immediately threatened danger
which could lead to death or serious injury if
the appropriate precautions are not observed.
WARNING
Danger of personal injury.
Indication of an immediately threatened danger

CAUTION
Danger of personal injury.
Indication of a possible danger which could lead
to medium or light injury if the appropriate

Indication of a possible disadvantage, i.e. un-
desired circumstances may arise if the appro-

mencing any work on or with the system, and
• must be complied with and
• must be available at the system location.

WARNING
Improper handling of the system can result
in serious or fatal injuries!
Only reliable trained specialised staff may
carry out work on and with the system (transpor-
tation, installation, setting up, taking out of op-
eration, maintenance, disposal).
WARNING
Working on the system involves a risk of
injury, e.g. through cutting / shearing,
squashing and burning!
• First get personal protection gear (gloves,
safety shoes).
• And only then work on the system!
WARNING
Hair and clothing can be drawn into the sys-
tem or caught or wound in by moving parts!
• Do not wear any large or loose items of cloth-
ing!
• If you have long, loose hair, wear a hair net!
DANGER
Electrical hazard!
Before beginning any work on the system:
• De-energize it.
• Protect it from being switched on again.
• Make sure that it is de-energized.
• Earth it and bypass it.
• Cover or block off adjoining parts which are
still live.
DANGER
Electrical hazard!
Work on electrical equipment may only be car-
ried out by qualified and authorized electricians!
WARNING
Hazard presented by negative pressure!
• First ventilate the feed lines (relieve pres-
sure).
• And only then work on the system!
WARNING
Hazard presented by negative pressure!
• First check that all pipe connections, feed
lines and containers are firm, sealed and
have a tight fit.
• Then check the fasteners have a tight fit.
• And only then start up the system!
WARNING
Negative pressure at the suction intake!
Only operate with the feed line connected to the
suction intake!
• Do not approach the suction intake if you
have long, loose hair or are wearing large,
loose clothing,
• Do not peer into the suction intake or bring
your eye in front of the opening of the suction
intake.
WARNING
Hazard presented by moving parts!
Do not put your hand into the unit through any
opened suction or pressure joints!
Do not put objects into any of the openings in
the unit!
1.2.1 Other risks
DANGER
Electrical hazard!
The system is still live for a period of at least 3
minutes following disconnection of the power
supply.
• Before carrying out any work on the system
make sure that it is de-energized.
WARNING
Risks of burns and scalding from hot media
and hot surfaces on the unit.
• Before working on the unit, allow the system
to cool down for at least 30 min after shutting
it down!
