The feeder module is unable to

communicate with the machine

(FCU).

Log the module out and then on again

(perhaps only possible via the GUI).

Check the interface of the fibre optic

cable (EDIF) and clean it, if necessary.

If these measures do not succeed,

please send the feeder module to the

manufacturer for repair.

Note: Include the FCU in your error

search!

All LEDs of

Fatal error when saving or restoring

the necessary operation data (e. g.

offset of the pickup position, feeder

ID).

Please send the feeder module to the

manufacturer for repair.

Running

light forward

The feeder module has been

logged in but the removal handle

has not yet been engaged (pushed

in).

Push the removal handle into the

feeder module.

If the displayed status persists, even if

the handle has engaged properly,

send the feeder module to the manu-

facturer for repair.

All LEDs are

off

24 V supply voltage has exceeded

the switching on threshold and has

then collapsed.

Usually this status is only briefly dis-

played after the feeder module has

logged out.

If this status is displayed for a longer

time, check the power supply of the

FCU and the EDIF.

Both LEDs

All LEDs are

off

The feeder module is unable to start

the application.

Reload the application software. To do

this, place the feeder module on the

placement machine and perform a

software download in SITEST.

Note: If the application software is not

available or if it is defective, only the

basic program or so-called boot loader

will be active. However, the boot load-

er is unable to access the display

which will remain dark.

NOTICE

If an error simultaneously occurred on both feeder module tracks, the display patterns de-

scribed are active for the left and the right track. In contrast to a module error of the feeder mod-

ule control unit, however, all 8 pitch LEDs never flash simultaneously.

Warning: You have selected a

function which is invalid in the

current feeder module state:

▪ Tape conveyor backwards

when the foil is tensioned

▪ Tensioning foil when foil is

already tensioned

This status is displayed when a

button has been pressed and

vanishes when the button has

been released.

If you want to perform this function,

remove the foil from the pair of toothed

wheels and cut it, to relax the foil

rocker.

Conveyor error: Tape feeding cy-

cle was not correctly completed

within the prescribed time.

▪ Is the tape reel trapped in the

container?

▪ Is the component trapped in

the pickup area, between the

tape and the component win-

dow?

Once the obstacle has been elimi-

nated, use the FORWARDS and

BACKWARDS buttons to restart the

conveyor.

The feeder module will finish the faulty

feed run and will return to its correct

position.

LED 2 flash-

Foil torn: Foil was not tensioned

within the specified time:

▪ The foil is torn.

▪ The foil container is full.

▪ Contaminants or foil residues

prevent pressure of the foil

disposal rolls.

▪ Insert and tighten foil again.

▪ Empty the foil container.

▪ Check the foil disposal rolls for

contamination and clean them, if

necessary.

LED 1 flash-

es slowly

Foil stripper: Foil not pulled off

while tape gets transported. The

cover foil has probably been

trapped under the pickup window

and therefore not stripped off

properly.

Check if the cover foil is jammed under

the pickup window.

One LED

lights up

(current

pitch)

Process error: The station com-

puter sent an error message to

this feeder module track. The

error source is therefore not in the

feeder module but usually in the

placement machine.

The graphical user interface (GUI) of

the placement machine displays a de-

tailed description of the error source.
