1 Introduction
This service guide is a manual or reference work for performing service work on the SIPLACE®
Head Care StationII.
1.1 Safety instructions
Knowledge of and compliance with the safety instructions contained in the user manual of the
SIPLACE Head Care Station II (HCS II) is a prerequisite for any service work on the HCS II. The
following safety notes are an extract from the safety instruction of the user manual for HCS II.
DANGER
Nonobservance of these safety instructions may cause injury to personnel and dam-
age to the HCS II!

WARNING
Safe operation of the Head Care Station (HCS)
Safe operation of the HCS depends absolutely on the operator being familiar with the user
manual and safety instructions and putting them into effect.
The HCS II cover is always locked during the test sequences as long as the stop or emer-
gency button is not pressed. It is not allowed to remove any cover or bypass the safety
devices/switches of the HCS II during operation.

Safety instructions
This manual contains notes that must be observed to guarantee your personal safety and to avoid
damage to equipment. These notes are highlighted by warning triangles and are indicated as fol-
lows according to the level of risk:

1.1.2 Safety instruction for the power supply
WARNING
Hazardous Voltages!
The HCS II is supplied with 1 x 220V~ (or. 1 x 110V~) ± 5 %, 50/60 Hz main voltage.
► Observe the safety instructions during all service work!

This means that some parts of the system carry potentially lethal voltages - even when
switched off at the main power switch.
●
Incorrect handling of the HCS II can therefore result in fatal injuries, severe injuries or consid-
erable damage to equipment.
●
Service work must always be carried out by appropriately qualified personnel.
●
Always follow the applicable accident prevention and DIN regulations (particularly DIN EN 60
204, part 1) or the regulations specific to your country.
●
Before starting any service work, turn off and disconnect the HCS II. See 3.1 "Turn off and dis-
connect the HCS II" [}19].
●
Always secure the HCS II against unauthorized reactivation. If these instructions are not fol-
lowed, you may be able to touch live parts, which could result in fatal or severe injuries.
1.1.3 Safety instructions for the compressed air supply
CAUTION
Risk of injury from compressed air!
Risk of injury when disconnecting the compressed air lines.
► Never disconnect compressed air lines while they are still pressurized.
1.1.4 Safety instructions on hazardous materials
CAUTION
Observe the safety data sheets
Observe the applicable safety data sheet, when handling hazardous materials (e. g. Loctite
241, ethanol).

1.2.1 Environmentally-friendly disposal of materials and components
Our products are manufactured using only materials and parts that can be easily separated and
disposed of in an environmentally-friendly way.

friendly disposal of machines, working materials, consumable materials and wear parts.

1.2.2 Use of original accessories and spare parts
Only use original spare parts and authorized accessories. The use of other parts will affect safety
and will invalidate the liability for any consequential damage.
