1 Introduction
This instruction manual is a guide or reference work for operating and setting up the SIPLACE
®
TX Edition V2 placement machines.
The SIPLACE TX Edition V2 placement machines are available in six different variants:
– SIPLACE TX1
– SIPLACE TX2
– SIPLACE TX2i
– SIPLACE TX2 m
– SIPLACE TX2i m
– SIPLACE TX2i m 4 mm
The numbers in the type name indicate the number of gantries used. Each gantry has one place-
ment head. The term m stands for enhanced placement accuracy of 15 µm, 20 µm or 25 µm

The header of each chapter contains the release and software version, to which this manual ap-
plies.
PLEASE NOTE
The SIPLACE TX Edition V2 placement machines are of largely identical design. Any dif-
ferences will be mentioned specifically.
For information about the relevant configurations and options, please refer to the
specification documentation for the SIPLACE TX or SIPLACE TX m.
The diagrams in this instruction manual show the SIPLACE TX2. These diagrams also
apply in principle to the SIPLACE TX1, TX2i or SIPLACE TX m. Additional diagrams will
be shown for any deviations.

1.1 Important notes on the instruction manual
1.1.1 Contents and filing of the instruction manual
This instruction manual contains basic information that must be observed when setting up, oper-
ating and maintaining the placement machine. The service engineers, qualified staff, operators
and users plus system owner must therefore read it before commencing installation and commis-
sioning. The instructions must be kept permanently accessible where the placement machine is
used.
In addition, the user must ensure that the employees have fully understood the contents of the
instruction manual.
