1 Introduction
This installation manual provides instructions on installing the SIPLACE® EDM software and
configuring the software basically after installation.
It also contains information on the scope of delivery and requirements for successful installation.
1.1 Scope of Delivery

The supplied CD-ROM contains the following software components:
● SIPLACE EDM Master Server
● SIPLACE EDM Configuration Manager
● SIPLACE EDM Clearing Pool
● SIPLACE EDM Line Server
● SIPLACE EDM Client
● SIPLACE EDM Data Transfer Manager
● SIPLACE EDM Tool
1.2 Languages
The standard package contains German, English and Chinese (Simplified) versions. Only German
and English are supported for installing EDM.
1.3 Licenses
The following licenses are required for the EDM system:
– EDM Server (Factory)
– EDM Client (Floating), 1x per line server
The Factory license type is valid for the entire production run and is not assigned to a license
server.
The Floating license type is fetched from a license server by the application and then released
again when the application is terminated. However, the number of licenses on the license server is
limited.
