Replacing the R-axis motor

Chapter 4 - Replacing the R-axis Motor

The R-axis motor replacement is explained below.

Note: Be sure to prepare a replacement motor with terminals attached.

Note: R-axis proper data measurement is required following replacement of the R-

axis motor.

4.1 Removing the R-axis Motor

1. Remove the following cover.

2. Disconnect the connectors from the control board.

Replacing the R-axis motor

3. Loosen the four coupling bolts connecting the R-axis motor and small gear.

4. Remove the two bolts fixing the R-axis motor, and then remove the motor.

5. Remove the cable ties securing the wires. (3 positions)

Replacing the R-axis motor

6. Use the pin extractor jig (1276716-1, 234168-1) to extract the R-axis motor power and

encoder wire terminals from the connector.

7. Removing the R-axis is now complete.
