Replacing the Q-axis motor

Chapter 5 - Replacing the Q-axis Motor

The Q-axis motor replacement is explained below.

Note: Be sure to prepare a replacement motor with terminals attached.

Note: Q-axis proper data measurement is required following replacement of the Q-

axis motor.

5.1 Removing the Q-axis Motor

1. Remove the following cover.

2. Disconnect the connectors from the control board.

3. Loosen the four coupling bolts connecting the Q-axis motor coupling bolts and small

gear.

4. Remove the two bolts fixing the Q-axis motor, and then remove the motor.

5. Remove the cable ties used to secure the wires (3 locations)

Replacing the Q-axis motor

6. Use the pin extractor jig (1276716-1, 234168-1) to extract the Q-axis motor power and

encoder wire terminals from the connector.

7. Removing the Q-axis motor is now complete.
