3.16 Feeder Setting Comparison
With this feature the feeder settings in SIPLACE Pro are compared with the feeder settings made
in the setup. In case of differing values, a warning is displayed, the feeder is deactivated and via
the GUI the operator is prompted to confirm the changed values or continue with the values from
SIPLACE Pro. This is to avoid that feeder settings (such as pickup position, feeder pitch) are
changed unintentionally. However, no confirmation is required if the feeder settings are changed
directly on the GUI.
The comparison is performed in the following cases:
Immediately after a job download.
When feeder settings are modified directly on the feeders after a job download.
When one or several feeders are exchanged during production.

4 Feature Description Station Software V703.x
Features (V703.01)
4.1 X4i with New Electronic Concept
Additionally to the X-series placement machines, the station software supports the X4i placement
machine with the new HCU (Head Control Unit) / GCU (Gantry Control Unit) electronic concept in
one-computer operation. Due to a changed camera position, an alternating placement mode is
possible for all conveyor configurations and for single conveyor on this placement machine.
4.2 SX1/SX2 placement machine
The station software supports the new SX1/SX2 placement machine (with one or two gantries) in
one-computer operation. The special features of the 703 station software for the SX-series are
listed in section 4.11 to section 4.24.
4.3 C&P20 Placement Head
The station software supports the C&P20 placement head on the X2, X3 and X4 placement
machines.
4.4 Fast Head Exchange Separating Component Camera from Head
As of this station software version the camera can be separated from the placement head.
4.5 2x8mm X-Feeder
The station software supports the 2x8mm X-feeder.
4.6 "IPTE Multi Stick Feeder"
The station software supports the "IPTE Multi Stick Feeder". There are two models of this feeder:
IPTE multi stick 60 AX
IPTE multi stick XL80 AX

4.7 Long Board Option
The Long board option is supported on the X2, X3 and X4 placement machines. Boards up to a
length of 610 mm can be placed with this option.
4.8 Automatic Change to Manual Mode during Calibration
During mapping preparation and started but not yet completed calibration, the manual mode is
automatically activated. I.e., although the Start production automatically option is set, the
production is not automatically started by pressing the machine start key. This is to avoid, that e.g.
the mapping plate is unloaded accidentally after the cover was opened and the voltage has been
re-established.
4.9 Extension of SIPLACE Vision
NOTICE
Detailed information on the SIPLACE Vision functions can be found in the online help of
the station software.
SIPLACE Vision has been extended as follows:
Two new features are available on the Vision Teach Station:
Testsuite
With this feature the operator can test current settings simultaneously on several measurement
contexts.
Component Shape Finder
With this feature the operator can search for existing component shapes for a given
measurement.
Internal inspection of the appearance of more leads than described for SO/SOT components.
Alternatively, synthetic inkspots can be placed inverted in the Ink spot editor, i.e. also if no
inkspot was found.
The "Brightness check inside the circle" can be activated in the Fiducial editor to differentiate
between circle fiducials and plated-through holes on the board.
BGAs and Flip-Chip components with an irregular ball arrangement can be rapidly taught in a
few steps in the Form editor. The ball positions can be directly imported from a data sheet of
the manufacturer on the Vision Teach Station.
