à Apply slight pressure from above to put the "cover assembly" (incl. the filter mat) onto the
corresponding tray and clip the cover into the tray as you do so.
This completes the mounting of the air filter box and the machine is once again ready to
operate.
à Remove all tools, etc. from the machine.
à Switch ON the machine. Per visual check make certain that each of the 4 fans are rotating.
It is also possible to check they are drawing in air by holding a piece of paper briefly near the
cover on the outside.

2.5 Maintenance
DANGER
Maintenance work is only allowed to be carried out by specifically trained personnel (see the
information in the HS-50 user manual).
Proceed in the specified sequence. Observe all the danger notes in these retrofitting instructions
(see Sec. 2.3) and, with priority, those in the HS-50 user manual and maintenance instructions.
The permanent magnetic field represents a potential danger of death for wearers of pacemakers
in the area around the linear motors of the gantry axes (see the DANGER notes concerning the
permanent magnetic field in Sec. 2.3.2). 2

2.5.3 Setting the Machine to the Initial Condition for Maintenance
à The component changeover table remains docked.
à Stop the placement sequence at a suitable point and shutdown the operatingsystem Windows
NT.
à Turn the machine OFF at the main switch.
à Isolate the machine from the power supply network.
à During the entire maintenance sequence, secure the machine against unauthorized
reactivation as described in the Chapter"Locking the Machine..." in the User Manual SIPLACE
HS-50
à Look and check that both the fans have stopped.
2.5.4 Replacing the Filter Mats in the Air Filter Boxes, Every X Weeks
The interval for replacing the two filter mats depends on the machine utilization and must be
established on the basis of the level of contamination revealed by the weekly cleaning.
Replace the filter mat in the event of damage or contamination which cannot be cleaned away.
à Set the machine to the initial condition for maintenance (see above).

à Unlock the cover by applying slight pressure on one end of the lug positioned midway along
the long side of the tray (see figure above) and lift the cover off.
à Pull the old filter mat (incl. filter frame) off the Velcro strip along the edge of the cover frame.
à Remove any filter mat residue and other particles from the Velcro surface.
