The SIPLACE DX is the lat-
est innovation from the pio-
neering SIPLACE team. This
state-of-the-art, intelligent
production family is aimed at
electronics manufacturers
looking for highly reliable and
cost-effective placement
solutions. Designed specifi-
cally for the Asian market,
this new production line
offers dependable top qual-
ity, coupled with high place-
ment speeds, enhanced
configuration and component
spectrum flexibility and sim-
ple operation with a competi-
tive price/performance ratio.

Intelligent Placement Opti-
mization: top performance
with SIPLACE DX4
With a theoretical placement
capacity of 135,000 compo-
nents per hour, the SIPLACE
DX4 is the peak performance
model in the new product
family. The equally outstand-
ing actual performance of
90,000 components per
hour, measured in accor-
dance with the IPC standard,
puts the SIPLACE DX4 in a
class of its own when com-
pared to other models on the
market.
One of the secrets behind
the success of the DX4 is the
fourfold use of the powerful
SIPLACE 20-segment
Collect&Place head. Compo-
nents are picked up from the
DX table by 20 segments,
while a further 20 segments
on the other head simultane-
ously perform placement.
This dual-action process is
mirrored in the second place-
ment area. Speedy place-
ment is achieved irrespective
of the components used;
everything up to a 6x6 mm
edge length, including tiny
01005 components, can be
processed in mass produc-
tion and at top speeds by the
SIPLACE DX4.
The SIPLACE DX also uses
linear drives for all axes. This
technology facilitates and
supports highly accurate and
rapid placement.
However, the performance of
the production line as a
whole is even more decisive
for electronics manufacturers
than that of individual
machines. This is where the
processing capacity of the
software used plays an ever
increasing role. The
SIPLACE DX range demon-
strates its muscles with the
popular SIPLACE Pro soft-
ware and employs additional
optimization programs to bal-
ance and get the most out of
your production line.

INTELLIGENT Configura-
tion Strategies
One example of intelligent
configuration strategies are
the customized SIPLACE DX
tables, on which the feeder
modules and components
are set up for the machine.
The financial benefit of fixed
tables on the SIPLACE DX
machine is coupled with
innovative software and the
intelligent SIPLACE X feeder
modules. This facilitates
implementation of highly flex-
ible setup concepts, with
minimum time required for
setup and product change-
overs.
The SIPLACE DX supports a
wide variety of setup con-
cepts, despite the fixed table
installations. Intelligent
2x8mm feeder modules com-
plete the flexible configura-
tion concept. These can be
pre-configured at a separate
pre-setup area, away from
the line, and then linked to
the component reel via the
software (component kitting).
The complete feeder module
is then docked into the
machine where all configura-
tion details (e.g. component
type and pitch) are recog-
nized.
New in this class: the large
range of setup concepts
Fixed setups, family setups,
random setup, offline pre-
setups, split table mode and
much more: the high-perfor-
mance SIPLACE Pro and
SIPLACE Setup Center soft-
ware and the ability to
change SIPLACE X feeder
modules during ongoing pro-
duction, gives SIPLACE DX
users access to a range of
setup concepts previously
unknown in this price class.
