0.1 General

This user’s manual is a handbook and reference book for setting up and operating the SIPLACE 80S-20/F

placement machine. It covers the SIPLACE 80S-20 and the SIPLACE 80F

. Many functions are identical

and are therefore described using just the SIPLACE 80F

as the example. This means that various func-

tions which are described for the SIPLACE 80F

also apply to the SIPLACE 80S-20. Where information,

menu functions and so on for the SIPLACE 80S-20 vary from those of the SIPLACE 80F

, this will be indi-

cated separately in the corresponding chapters of this user’s manual.

The header lines show the software version. This software version is valid for the section in question. The fol-

lowing software versions are supplemented by additions in the individual sections and this noted by means of

the software version information header lines. In other words, if the header line includes "from Software

Version 404.xx" this section will also apply to a later software version, for example "405.xx".

0.1.1 About this User’s Manual

In most plants different people are responsible for operating, setting up and programming. This is the reason

why the operator need not for example have a detailed knowledge of all functions of the system. In addition

physical injuries and damage to property may be the result of untrained personnel carrying out actions without

possessing the corresponding background knowledge. This is why certain functions which can only be carried

out by personnel specifically trained in them are protected by passwords. This division of responsibilities is

also reproduced in the user’s manual in the information boxes. On those pages for the higher user class the

user class is shown in the footer as well.

Those pages where the footer does not show a user class contain the basic information the operator needs to

operate the machine.

For the higher user classes the corresponding pages contain all additional information.

WARNING

Do not perform any work on the machine unless you have a detailed knowledge of the corresponding part of

the user’s manual! All work must always be performed by correspondingly trained and qualified personnel! All

WARNING, CAUTION and DANGER information must be observed under all circumstances!
