Å If you want to use the mechanical ceramic substrate centering in combination with the sub-
strate position recognition via the optional oblique illumination, select:
0HFKDQLFDODQGREOLTXHLOOX PLQDWL RQ
-> "Accept".
Å If the machine only has a
VLQJOH
conveyor, exit the menu "Machine configuration" by pressing
"Accept".
In the following cases, a NOTE or error message is output on the screen:
A NOTE is output,
if you selected the SITEST menu option "None" or "Additional PCB camera illumination, i.e.,
a menu option WITHOUT the mechanical ceramic substrate centering unit, although the
hardware for mechanical ceramic substrate centering is still INSTALLED.
-> The NOTE text means that, prior to further work, the mechanical ceramic substrate cen-
tering unit in the pertinent conveyor must be removed and the plug-in connections on the
conversion board of the conveyor control must be unplugged. Otherwise the PCB and/or
the mechanical ceramic substrate centering unit (X-centering unit) may be damaged.
An ERROR message is then output,
if you selected the SITEST menu option "Mechanical centering station" or "Mechanical and
oblique illumination" i.e., a menu option WITH mechanical ceramic substrate centering, al-
though the hardware for the ceramic substrate centering is not - or is not completely in-
stalled.
-> The message means that the option is not installed in the pertinent conveyor or that, in
connection with, e.g., the option that was retrofitted, the relevant plug-in connection to the
conveyor control has not been made, is poor or was incorrectly allocated.
Å If a
GXDO
conveyor has been installed, your next step is to select, in the Edit menu:
"Ceramic substrate centering, conveyor
".
Configure the mechanical substrate centering unit in an analog manner to that described
above for Conveyor 1.
Note, however, for the possible combinations between Conveyor 1 and 2:
The combination "None" and "Mechanical centering station" is possible if the pertinent con-
veyor is appropriately equipped (with or without mechanical ceramic substrate centering
unit).
NOT possible is the combination of position recognition with oblique illumination in one con-
veyor and with normal illumination and/or with "None" in the other conveyor. If you select
this constellation, position recognition with oblique illumination is automatically accepted for
BOTH conveyors. In this case, the mechanical ceramic substrate centering unit must al-
ways be DEINSTALLED from both conveyors and the plug-in connections on the conver-
sion boards of the conveyor control must be unplugged.
Otherwise the PCB and/or the mechanical ceramic substrate centering unit (X-centering
unit) may be damaged.

Å Exit the menu "Machine configuration" by selecting "Accept".
If the menu option selected is not the same as the situation, hardware of "mechanical substrate
centering unit present/not present" when you exit this menu, an error message or a NOTE such
as described above for the configuration of Conveyor 1 will be generated.
Å Exit the SITEST program.
Å Carry out the shut-down of the machine and restart it in order to accept the configuration.
Å Check the function of the mechanical substrate centering unit as described in the Section
2.7.1.
