The main troubleshooting during the tape feeder operation is described here.

In the event of trouble, confirm in which section the trouble is caused and

set it right.

7.1 Component Pick-up Error

7.1.1 Component not correctly picked up in a certain tape feeder

Cause : Error in Pick-up Position

Cause : Shutter deformed

Remedy : Adjust the pick-up position by using the feeder adjusting jig JG-0148.

Refer to the instruction manual for the feeder adjusting jig JG-0148 for details.

Pick-up Position

Remedy : Replace the shutter.

If the component pick-up rate is degraded on the tape feeder during operation, the shutter

might be deformed.

If the shutter deformation (rise) is confirmed, replace the suppressor.

Cause : Tape feeder not correctly set on the feeder carriage of the

chip mounter (TCM-X series)

Remedy : Set the tape feeder correctly on the feeder carriage of the chip mounter (TCM-X

series) according to the instruction manual.

If the tape feeder is used while it is rising, then that might damage the machine or lead to

pick-up error.

Attach the tape feeder securely to the feeder carriage.

(Error in locate lever attachment position, causing tape feeder to rise)

Cause : Tape feeder to be used is not matched with the compo-

nent

Cause : Suppressor not correctly set

Remedy : Use the component which is correct for the tape feeder.

If the suppressor holding lever comes off while the tape feeder is in use, then it might cause

damage to the machine or cause a pick-up error.
