Nozzle
When obstacles such as solder paste is stuffed up in the nozzle, the suction becomes weak. And existence of
an obstacle at the nozzle tip prevents the vision processing from recognizing smaller components. Clean
nozzles to avoid these troubles.
■ Nozzle Cleaning with Air Blow
Clean nozzles with alcohol and then blow away dust with a blower (more than once a week). When choking
error occurs, also do the cleaning of the nozzle.
Be careful not to apply alcohol to identification marks. Quickly wipe off if
applied.
■ Nozzle Cleaning using Wire (1)
If the stain on the nozzle is stubborn, clean the nozzle using a wire.
Take care not to get injured with the fine wire when cleaning the nozzle.
ACTION:
① Have a wire ready.
(300mm length, 0.1mm diam. Part No. KV8-M8887-00X
② Pass the wire through the nozzle hole.

④ Move the nozzle back and forth to clean the nozzle hole.
⑤ Never forget to blow some air into the nozzle hole.
■ Nozzle Cleaning using Wire (2)
You can use the wire by fastening the wire ends with adhesive tape. In this case, adhesive may remain on the
wire. So be sure to clean the wire end before pulling out the wire form the nozzle.

■ Checking of Suction Pad (for nozzle No. M017, M018, M019, M020)
Check the rubber suction pad at the tip of the nozzle for flaws and cracks. If you find a flaw or crack, replace
the pad with a new one.
First, pull off the old pad, and then apply some grease to the inner surface of the new pad to fit it to the
nozzle.
Apply silicone grease.

■ Applying Silicone Grease
After cleaning a nozzle, be sure to apply grease to the nozzle.
● Outer Surface
Apply small amount of silicone grease to the outer surface (indicated by thick dotted line). And then wipe
off the grease with a dry cloth to make a very thin film of grease.
● Suction Pad
Use grease to prevent the rubber suction pad from degrading. Apply small amount of silicone grease to the
outer surface of the pad. And then wipe off the grease with a dry cloth.
Do not apply excessive grease, which may cause the nozzle to clog with dirt
and result in the placement error.
