About replacement of the microscope LED light
Replacement of the microscope LED light must be carried out by Disco
Service engineers.
When it becomes necessary to replace the microscope LED light, contact your
nearest Disco Service office.

1-4. Replacing the Spindle Carbon Brush
Operation flow
The procedure for replacing the spindle carbon brush consists of the following
steps:
1-4-1 Preparation of replacing the spindle carbon brush
1-4-2 Removing the waterproof cap
1-4-3 Replacing the spindle carbon brush
1-4-4 Completion of replacing the spindle carbon brush
Safety items for replacing the spindle carbon brush
WARNING
When you perform the procedure set forth in this section, you have to
place your hands in a drive section. If you perform maintenance with
the power ON, your fingers or hands may be caught or cut off.
Turn OFF the machine and shut off the facility power supply before
starting this procedure.
Also, ensure that no other person touches the machine during
operation.
Before replacement
Have on hand the following items for replacing.
2.5mm Allen wrench
Phillips screwdriver

The procedures for preparing for the replacement of the spindle carbon brush
consists of the following steps:
1-4-1-1 Preparation of replacing the spindle 1 carbon brush
- Procedure to prepare for the replacement of spindle 1 carbon
brush, that is followed when there is maintenance space
provided at the rear side of the machine
- Procedure to prepare for the replacement of spindle 1 carbon
brush, that is followed when there is no maintenance space
provided at the rear side of the machine

CAUTION
When you perform maintenance with the outer cover removed,
observe the following precaution. If you stand the removed outer
cover against the machine, you may receive injury by the cover if it is
toppled by the earthquake or like that.
After taking off the outer cover for maintenance purposes, store it
sufficiently away from the working area.
