3-1. Replacing the Bellows
Operation flow
The procedure for replacing the bellows consists of the following steps.

Safety items for replacing the bellows
NOTICE
Neither safety goggles, protective gloves, stepstools, flashlights nor
alcohol, all of which are necessary for maintenance work, are not
supplied with the machine. Use what are furnished in your factory or
what comply with your factory's standards.
Before replacement
Have on hand the following items for replacing the bellows.
Protective gloves, Safety goggles
Lint-free cloth
3mm Allen wrench

Procedures for preparation of replacing the bellows
WARNING
When you perform the procedure set forth in this section, you have to
place your hands in a drive section. If you perform maintenance with
the power ON, your fingers or hands may be caught or cut off.
Turn OFF the machine and shut off the facility power supply before
starting this procedure.
Also, ensure that no other person touches the machine during
operation.

Press the <System Initial> button to effect system initialization.

With the button, move the chuck table to the center of
the X-axis.

Turn OFF the main switch and then pull out the key.

Turn OFF the circuit breaker at the left of the machine. Lock out
the circuit breaker lever with a padlock or the like.

Shut off the facility power supply.

Close the facility main valves for the supply lines for the air, wheel
coolant water and spindle coolant water.
7
Wear protective gloves and safety goggles.

Procedures for replacing the bellows
WARNING
- When you perform the procedure set forth in this section, you have
to place your hands in a drive section. If you perform maintenance
with the power ON, your fingers or hands may be caught or cut off.
Turn OFF the machine and shut off the facility power supply before
starting this procedure.
Also, ensure that no other person touches the machine during
operation.
- If an attempt is made to remove broken workpiece or clean the work
area with bare hands, your fingers may be cut, stuck or otherwise
injured by broken workpiece. When you remove any broken
workpiece or clean the work area, use tweezers.
Before cleaning the work area, be sure to wear protective gloves
and safety goggles.
- If you operate the machine while its interior and floor are wet with
water, you may receive an electric shock that could result in serious
injury or death.
Make sure that there is no water in the water case or the bellows.
