5-1. Replacing the Consumable Parts of the Spinner
High-Pressure Pump
Safety items for replacing the consumable parts of the spinner high-pressure pump
CAUTION
When you perform maintenance with the outer cover removed,
observe the following precaution. If you stand the removed outer
cover against the machine, you may receive injury by the cover if it is
toppled by the earthquake or like that.
After taking off the outer cover for maintenance purposes, store it
sufficiently away from the working area.
NOTICE
When the pump pressure does not increase even after replacing its
consumable parts (cap seal, U-packing and wear ring), the metal
parts such as a piston may be worn. In this case, the spinner high-
pressure pump needs an overhaul. Please make contact with Disco's
sales representative.

Replacement timing of consumable parts of the spinner high-pressure pump
When the spinner high-pressure pump is used for a long time, the cap seal, U-
packing and wear ring of the pump become worn and causes a degradation of
pressurization effect.
In this case, it is necessary to replace the cap seal, U-packing and wear ring as
the consumable parts.
To know the standard replacement timing, calculate the hours and days of use
as follows.

Obtain the standard replacement timing after use in hours, h, using the
following expression (5.1.1).

If the hours of spinner cleaning reaches h, replace the cap seal, U-packing and
wear ring.

If the cleaning time for one workpiece is constant, you can obtain the standard
replacement timing after use in days, d, using the following expression (5.1.2).

If the number of days of the machine operation accompanied with spinner
cleaning reaches d, replace the cap seal, U-packing and wear ring.

Operation flow
If the pressure does not rise even when the pressure pump works properly, the
parts inside the pump may be worn.
The procedure for replacing the consumable parts of the spinner high-pressure
pump consists of the following steps.
5-1-1 Removing the machine outer cover
5-1-2 Disconnecting piping of the spinner high-pressure pump
5-1-3 Replacing the consumable parts of the spinner high-pressure pump
5-1-4 Completion of replacing the consumable parts
of the spinner high-pressure pump
