Concerning storage
Basic items to be observed with regard to the storage of the SM feeder are as follows.
Cautions against tape feeder storage and tape feeder reel replacement
Storing or replacing the reel while tape feeders are stacked may cause damage or
deformation to the components of the tape feeder. When replacing the tape feeder reel,
use the tape feeder replacement rack. Store the tape feeders on a stacking rack.
Do not store the feeders in places where temperature and humidity level are high
Avoid storing feeders in locations with high humidity or where the temperature is
higher than 40ºC. Rust or dewing may have negative effects on the driving part and
electronic circuit.
Do not store feeders in a location where magnetism is generated
If feeders are stored in a location where magnetism is generated, ensure that the area
from which the components on the reel are picked up is not magnetized.
Magnetization of such area may lead to problems with the smooth supply of
components.
Do not pile feeders up on one another

Do not store feeders in the place where there is the presence of oil and organic
solvents
If the tape feeders are kept in a location along with oil and organic solvents, the tape
feeder may be damaged. Moreover, if the components on the reel are smeared with oil
and organic solvents, it will cause damage to the components on the reel or the
quality deterioration of completed PCB products.
Avoid collision
Take care to avoid collision between tape feeders or between the tape feeder and
another object. Such collision may cause invisible damage to the tape feeder or
deterioration of the performance and function of the tape feeder.
Do not store the feeders in a location where vibration exists
If tape feeders are kept in a place under severe vibration, it may loosen the connection
Avoid magnetism
Avoid all locations where there is the presence of oil
Avoid collision

of feeder parts, which may cause problems to the driving part and electronic circuit.
Avoid dusty locations
If tape feeders are kept in a location containing a lot of dust, dust may enter the feeder
parts causing the feeder to operate improperly.
About handling
Basic items to be observed with regard to the handling of the SM feeder are as follows.
Cautions against handling the tape feeders when moving
When moving the tape feeder, hold it by the handle. If several feeders are moved
using one hand, they may suffer a fall, causing damage to the tape feeder and injury
to the personnel.
Avoid vibration
Avoid keeping feeders in dusty locations
