6.1.2.1 Description
This nozzle changer can be used for both the CPP head and the C&P20 head. The magazines
are seated on a shared mounting plate, are centered using two parallel pins and fixed in place with
4 snap fasteners. The precise position is determined with two fiducials on each magazine. Micro-
switches monitor whether the magazines are seated correctly on the support plate of the nozzle
changer in order to prevent the placement head colliding with a protruding magazine. All the 6
magazine locations must be filled since the safety circuit stops the machine in response to missing
magazines or magazines that are not seated correctly. The nozzle changer also detects from the
coding of the nozzle magazine whether it is a -20xx nozzle magazine or 28xx nozzle magazine for
the CPP head, or a 10xx magazine for the C&P20 head.
If a SpeedStar is used, no nozzle magazine may be used for the MultiStar.
There are two versions of the nozzle station; one for the SIPLACE X4/X3/X2 and one for the
SIPLACE X4I. Components may be blown from the nozzles of the MultiStar or SpeedStar at the

posed of in the reject bin.
