1 Introduction
This guide gives an overview of the contents of the ASM OSC package. Here you will find all key
information needed for working with the features of the ASM OSC Package.
1.1 Brief description
Components with irregular component shapes outside the standard range are referred to as Odd
Shape Components – (OSC). When handling odd shape components, the trend is towards in-
creased automation in the placement line with the following target:
●
Reduce manufacturing costs
●
Maximize product quality by avoiding human error factors
●
Reduce manual workstations at the line and thus optimize the floor size
From R16-2, SIPLACE supports new features for odd shape components that have been collected
into the licensed OSC Package option. This extends the range of components that can be
assembled by a SIPLACE machine.
Following features are supported by the OSC Package option:
●
Improved placement of snap-in components
●
Stereo Measurement for THT Pins
●
Customer-specific Pattern Features
●
Special Position Evaluation
●
Support to find best acceleration (can be set at the station, only)
●
Increased placement force of Twin VHF placement head to 100 N
