Never change or manipulate the safety equipment or the coplanarity sensor (laser).
The laser in the coplanarity sensor meets the requirements of Laser Class 2 without taking protective
actions
.
The plate identifying it as Laser Class 2, the laser warning triangular and the label with the technical data must
be
on the coplanarity sensor as shown below.
Fig. 1.2.1 Laser Warning Plates on the Coplanarity Sensor
Classification of the coplanarity sensor as Laser Class “2” is appropriate only if no manipulations of the
sensor have occurred and the seal on the screws on the housing of the coplanarity sensor is undamaged.
Otherwise the risk of accident due to laser radiation is high and the laser is no longer to be operated in
the existing form.
In this situation, notify Siemens Service
immediately.
The laser (sensor) is to be operated only when correctly installed in the closed machine. In this condition,
the machine is in compliance with Laser Class
1.
If the safety circuit is interrupted by opening the protective cover, actuating EMERGENCY OFF or remov-
ing a component table (pulling out the mains power plug and the component table interface connector),
the
laser is turned off automatically.
The
safety function (= deactivation of the laser) continues in force when the key-operated switch is turned
to the
Service Position.
Additional warning signs on the machine (on the protective hoods) are not required.
