1 - 21
● Press the “EMERGENCY OFF” button and turn the machine off.
● Proceed to the steps described in Section 1.8.
1.8 Configuring the Option (at Line Computer and
Station Computer) and Putting It into Service
NOTE
When retrofitting on a SIPLACE F4 machine with software version 402, version 403.0
4 (line computer: SW
V403.xx) must be read in.
For details, consult the pertinent SW version of the “Operating Manual for the UNIX Line Computer”.
1.8.1 Line Computer: Configuring the Coplanarity Option
● Open the configuration editor for SIPLACE 80 F4 or F5.
● During the initial installation: Set the option "Coplanarity".
● During the initial installation or exchange of the coplanarity option (new for old):
Choose the sensor type
:
- In case of V 403.xx: "COPL IC_COP_8" (8 = Default and corresponds to the old
coplanarity module)
- In case of V 404.xx : "COPL IC_COP_17_ILD" (= new coplanarity sensor)
● Store the configuration file.
● Switch to the Data Manager and translate the configuration file (station/<name>.st).
● Check the error message file (.error).
1.8.2 Line Computer: Consistency Check of All Set-Ups
● Activate the “Consistency check” for all set-ups already present:
- In case of V 403.xx: Consistency check must be actuated manually for each set-up present.
- In case of V 404.xx: Consistency is automatically conducted for all set-ups present.
● Check the error files of the consistency check (MK_KE.error).
1.8.3 Line Computer: Activating the Option "Coplanarity" for Individ-
ual Components
● Open the component editor for the desired component and activate the coplanarity measurement.

1.8.4 Line Computer: Activating the Coplanarity Measurement Capa-
bility for the Models
V 403.xx and V 404.xx:
The coplanarity option has already been activated for all measurable models in Siemens Standard Library.
● Open the GF file of the relevant, customer-specific models.
● Enter the sensor type:
- In case of V 403.xx -> type 8 (as previously for the old module)
- In case of V 404.xx -> type 17
● Activate the option field “COPLANARITY".
● Store the GF file.
1.8.5 Feasibility Test
V 403.xx and V 404.xx:
The feasibility test is automatically performed when a new placement program is specified.
1.8.6 Station Computer: Configuring the Coplanarity Option
1.8.6.1 Procedure for Version 403.04
DANGER O O O
Where retrofitting is involved, no one except the Siemens service engineer is to turn the machine on.
● Switch the video multiplexer to MC.
● Connect the keyboard appropriate.
● With “SC”, open the file real.ma and SST.ma in the directory D:\Dat\
● In the file real.ma edit the positions of the coplanarity sensor:
coplanarity_2_x 444000
coplanarity_2_y 595000
coplanarity_2_z 17000
● On the last line in the file sst.ma edit:
Speed factor: 200
● Save the data.
● Turn the machine off and then back on.
● The data for coplanarity is loaded at the station.

1.8.6.2 Procedures with Versions > 404.01
DANGER O O O
Where retrofitting is involved, no one except the Siemens service engineer is permitted to turn the
machine on.
● Turn the machine on and start the SITEST program.
● Carry out the “total reference run” in the SITEST program.
● Select the option “Settings” in the pulldown menu. Select the “Machine configuration ...” menu.
● In the dialog field which is opening, select the line “Coplanarity" by clicking twice or “Edit”.
● Select the module. Buttons available: None / LCM150 / ILD 2000:
-> Select the button "
ILD 2000" (= new sensor) -> Confirm "Accept" (2 x).
● In the SITEST main window the message appears “The machine must be turned off in order to ...”.
In response to the question “Store?” enter “YES” and confirm the message window:
- The station computer shut down automatically.
● Carry out a restart of the station (machine OFF and then back ON).
● The coplanarity option is transferred to the station.
Due to the previous selection of the new sensor, the station “knows”, e.g., the
X-Y-Z-position of the new
sensor ( X- 444000, Y = 595000, Z = 17000) and the new speed factor (400).
1.8.7 Calibrating with the SITEST Program
DANGER O O O
While the machine is undergoing retrofitting, it is to be put into service by no one except the Siemens service
engineer. Bridging of protective equipment is not permitted.
For all subsequent jobs the key-operated switch must be locked.
CAUTION O
The calibrating sequence subsequently started via SITEST is
just utilized here to turn on the sensor, i. e.,it is
not to be stored.
NOTE
In order to calibrate the coplanarity sensor (laser) the new coplanarity option must be activated at the line
computer (see Section Fig. 1.8.1 and following) and must have been entered at the station (see Section
1.8.6). After this a station restart must have been carried out.
