2.5 Safety instructions for operating the machine
2.5.1 Safety instructions for closing the protective covers
To prevent any risk of injury when the protective covers on the machine are closed, the owner
must instruct his operators to use the protective covers exactly as specified in the following in-
structions.

→ When opening or closing the protective covers, always hold the covers by the recessed grips.
→ When closing, do not reach into the gap between the protective cover and the machine panel.
→ When you close the covers, make sure that there is no-one else in the cover swiveling range.

→ Never reach into the gap between the component trolley and the machine base (item 1 in Fig.
2.5 - 2

→ Never connect the supply cable (item 3 in Fig. 2.5 - 2
, page 52) for the component trolley to
the socket (item 2 in Fig. 2.5 - 2
, page 52) on the machine and then operate the component
trolley outside the machine via the compressed air control unit .
→ Always connect up the supply cable (item 3 in Fig. 2.5 - 2
, page 52) for the CO trolley to the
machine socket (item 2 in Fig. 2.5 - 2
, page 52) before you lower the table bed. To do this,
ensure that the supply cable is always on the side of the machine socket.
2.5.3 Safety instructions for lowering the component table bed
WARNING DANGER OF CRUSHING 2
→ When lowering the component table bed, never reach into the gap between the feeders and
the used tape channel.
2.5.4 Safety instructions for moving the component trolley
WARNING
To prevent accidents, ALWAYS follow the rules listed below when you move the component trol-
ley.
→ Always hold the handles with both hands when you move the component trolley.
→ Always lower the component table before moving the component trolley.
→ Remember that a component trolley with the full complement of feeder modules can tip over
sideways or forward on gradients of 20° or more.
→ Make sure that the surface on which the trolley is moved has a significantly smaller gradient.
→ Be careful not to collide with obstacles. The trolley could tip forward if it is traveling fast
enough.
