5.3 Further Features
5.3.1 Station Software 705
SIPLACE Pro 9.3 supports version 705 for the:
DX series: DX1, DX2 and DX4
SX series: SX1, SX2 and SX4
X series: X2, X3, X4, X4I, X4T and X4IT
5.3.2 Automatic Width Adjustment
On stations from station software 704, SIPLACE Pro supports the automatic width adjustment.
The station software offers a manual width adjustment via its user interface.
5.3.3 Refined Time Model for SOKO Nozzles
Depending on the station software version 703, 704 or 705 a refined optimization time model is used
to exactly simulate overlapping axis travelling diagrams.
5.3.4 Option Long Board for DX4 and SX4
From station software 705, long boards can be optimized and produced using the reverse stepping
feature.
5.3.5 01005 Support for 2x8mmX
From station software 605 and 705, the 01005 placement process is supported without any
restrictions.
5.3.6 PCB Barcode Recognition by Means of the PCB Camera
From station software 705, PCB and panel barcodes can be read by means of the PCB camera
(Traceability data).
The barcode scanned at the first station of the line can be passed on to the next placement machine.
Passing on read barcode data is only supported if the placement machines are standing in direct
succession and are not separated e.g. by an inspection conveyor belt.
The barcode data can be described as a barcode fiducial and assigned in the PCB editor. Barcode
fiducials can be scanned on the placement machine and saved as barcode fiducials in SIPLACE Pro.
Note
The feature is activated with the "Reading Barcode with PCB Camera" license.
5.3.7 Alternative Components
From station software 705: In the PCB editor, one or more alternative components can be defined for
each placement position in addition to the default component. Thus, it is possible to describe for one
PCB:
Components of different manufacturers or / and
Components with differing component shapes or / and
Components with different packaging forms and feeders.
The optimization checks the necessary technical constraints such as common nozzle, common
camera, and same feeder class and calculates the number of possible alternatives.
The default component is set up by the optimization within the SIPLACE Pro setup. The possible
alternatives can be shown using the Recipe Analyzer and the Setup report.
The download sends recipes with alternative components, if this feature is activated on all stations in
the line and if a license is present for each station.

As long as the feature is not activated on all stations in the line or not supported by all software
versions in the line, the recipe is sent without alternative component data, i.e., a mixed operation
within a line is not possible.
Notes
1. The feature requires the "Forced Setup Verification" operation mode. The use
of splice sensors is highly recommended, if alternative components will directly
be spliced directly.
2. The feature is activated with the "Alternative Components" license.
3. For further information on this feature and its restrictions please see the user
manual “Alternative Components“ on the product CD.
4. The SiCluster Professional option supports alternative components.
5.3.8 SIPLACE Random Setup
Up to now feeders and components have to be set up exactly on the tracks that have been calculated
by the optimization and assigned by the download.
The SIPLACE Random Setup feature offers the opportunity to set up components on another track of
the same table or even to set up another table in the line. This is only supported for X feeders. Other
feeder types must be set up on the accurate track as described in the setup.
It is not possible changing the setup for a production in process.
Procedure:
1. Create an optimized target setup using the optimization.
2. In the LineControl GUI the "Random Setup" function is enabled in the production plan.
3. A recipe or job with an optimized setup is added to the production plan.
4. Typically, the required components have already been set up on the X feeders in the pre-
setup.
5. The pre-setup-up X feeders are placed on the tables of the line. It is recommended to position
the feeders as accurate as possible with respect to the track of the optimization result.
Note
Deviations of the real setup compared with the target setup leads may lead to
deviations of real and simulated production time and thus to an unequal
utilization within the line.
6. During the download of the recipe to the line, LineControl creates a working copy of the
optimized target setup. Setup Center detects the feeders actually set-up at the station and
enters them into the working copy.
Note
The computer on which the Setup Center application is installed can be
selected in the configuration of the Line Control GUI.
7. LineControl checks if all components of the PCB(s) of the recipe are correctly entered in the
working copy of the setup according to the download settings. If components are missing, they
can be added on their standard X feeder from the optimized setup.

8. The job is sent to the station after a successful integrity and license check.
Notes
The feature requires station software 705. Earlier software versions (605 or 703) were
not tested.
The features "Random Setup" and "Alternative Component" cannot be combined on
one single line.
For further information on this feature and its restrictions please see the user manual
“SIPLACE Random Setup“ on the product CD.
5.3.9 Teaching of Placement Positions
From station software 705, placement position offsets (X, Y and angle) can be taught at the station
and uploaded to SIPLACE Pro.
In the PCB editor, the placement positions to be taught have to be marked. The taught placement
position offsets are taken into account when supplying data to stations with prior software versions
(e.g. station software version 40x and 50x). A change in the placement position offsets is distributed to
other stations in the line that place the placement position of the same name.
Notes
The SIPLACE Pro user "Service" has to have writing access to placement lists.
In addition, the user logged into the station has to have writing access to the placement
list that contains the uploaded placement position.
5.3.10 Split Table at Track and SiCluster Professional
Besides optimizing split tables in SiCluster Professional it is also possible to use this option for the
cluster jobs and their Result Jobs.
5.3.11 Whispering of Barcode Information
Note
The feature can be activated with the "Whispering of Barcodes" license.
5.3.12 Long Board Option
Note
The feature can be activated with the "Long Board Option" license.
5.3.13 Integrity Check for Multiple Jobs
Similar to the Multi Job Optimization and the Multi Cluster Job Optimization there is the Multi Integrity
Check in the Optimizer toolkit. From the structure tree of the recipes the recipes to be checked are
added to a recipe list and optimized in the desired sequence and according to the settings.
At the same time, the optimization starts an adjustable number of processes and thus utilizes the
present multi core processors.
5.3.14 Query Tool
The underlined results of queries can be clicked on. The corresponding object is opened in SIPLACE
Pro Desk.
