Lubricating the Z-axis
This section describes the lubrication of spindles of the z-axis.
The following sections describe how to lubricate the spindles:

Required: Lubricating grease KP2K, NLGI class 2 according to DIN 51818

WARNING
Hazard of injury
Set the inspection system in the STOP mode before starting
lubrication, see „Operation“ > „Actuating the STOP mode“
(Page 149).
Perform the following work steps:
1. Open the rear swing doors.
The STOP mode is actuated, see „Operation“ > „Actuating the
STOP mode“ (Page 149).
2. Check the spindle for contamination and clean as required.
3. Give the lower spindle threads a thin coat of grease with the
brush (starting state: Z-axis is above, shutter is closed).
4. Close the rear swing doors and cancel the STOP mode, see
„Operation“ > „Ending the STOP mode“ (Page 150).
5. Use the software to move the Z-axis downwards.
6. Repeat steps 1-4 for the upper spindle threads.
7. Give the upper spindle threads a thin coat of grease with the
brush.
8. Use the software to move the Z-axis.
9. Check if there is a visible grease film on the spindle.
The Z-axis of the sealed X-ray tube is lubricated.

Lubricating the lift gate
The lift gate separates the AOI and AXI sections and closes off the
AXI section during X-ray inspection. The gate is closed by a motor-
driven spindle and four vertical bearings moving on two guides.
Required: Lubricating grease KP2K, NLGI class 2 according to DIN 51818

NOTICE
The lift gate closes as soon as the inspection system is turned off.
WARNING
Hazard of injury
Turn off the system and secure it against accidental restart
before starting lubrication.
Make sure the lift gate is closed.
Perform the following work steps:
1. Check the guides and spindles for dirt and clean these compo-
nents as required.
2. Give the spindle guides a thin coat of grease with the brush.
