DANGER
The machines in the SIPLACE family are powered with 3 x 400 V +/- 50/60 Hz mains voltage.
In consequence, portions of the system are conducting dangerous voltage. This voltage is pre-
sent in certain assemblies inside the machine base even when the master switch is turned off!
Improper handling of the machine or contact with parts of the machine which are live may result
in death or severe bodily injury as well as considerable material damage.
Always comply with the pertinent accident prevention code, the regulations of the society of elec-
trical engineers and the special safety laws which apply in your country.
The more stringent German safety regulations VDE 0113 apply for all work performed inside the
machine base.
Secure the machine to prevent it from being switched back on without authorization.
All safety instructions in the SIPLACE operating manual take precedence for the operation of the
machine.
The safety instructions in the pertinent chapter of the SIPLACE service manual also apply when
working on resolving problems.
All preconditions and restrictions stipulated in this manual must also be observed!
Never actuate the width adjustment when the interface connector is not plugged in!

WARNING
!
Strict adherence to the following instructions is mandatory to ensure operating safety:
– Never open one of the two protective covers if you are not completely familiar with the proce-
dure and the operation of the machine. The protective covers are only to be opened when \RX

– The key-operated switch is to be unlocked only by qualified, trained personnel.
– The key-operated switch is to be unlocked only when you are instructed to do so in the opera-
ting manual or in this manual!
– When the station is switched on, never place your body (head or arms) in the positioning range
of the gantry!
No changes of any type whatsoever are ever to be carried out unless you are absolutely clear as
to their effect on the overall functioning of the system!
– Only appropriately trained personnel are to perform set-up, changeover or maintenance of the
stations.
– Use only OEM parts and authorized accessories from Siemens. Use of other parts negatively
affects safety and may void liability for the consequences which arise.
– The operating safety of the SMD placement machines is only guaranteed if the SMD place-
ment machines are used as intended and the 6,3/$&(operating manual is observed.
– The machine key and the key for the key-operated switch must be kept in such a manner that
they are only accessible to qualified personnel.
– The SIPLACE test program SITEST (required, for example, during adjustment tasks) is to be
run only by authorized personnel, i.e., persons trained at Siemens to do so.
– If any actions are necessary and no personnel in your company are adequately trained, it is
imperative that you commission a Siemens service engineer to handle it. Remember: No un-
professional action saves money; it may instead end up costing a lot of money.
The operators of the machine are only to perform activities for which they have been adequately
trained and which they have completely mastered.
