Cleaning solution
This ultrasound bath and accessories is also recommended for cleaning ceramic nozzles
and pressure control valves. However, if you are also using this ultrasound device for
cleaning nozzles, make sure that you never use the nozzle cleaning solution for cleaning
the Glue Feeder!

Alcohol may NOT be used as a cleaning agent. Using alcohol with epoxy resin glues can
initiate hardening of the glue, making it impossible to clean the nozzle afterwards.

Cleaning the gluing unit during operation
●
If the opening of the dispenser nozzle is dirty when measured, the machine will be stopped.
► To clean the nozzle, wipe off the glue residues with a dry, lint-free cloth.
●
If the dispensed glue dots do not have the correct shape or size and if you can find no other
cause of this (such as incorrect pressure or temperature settings), you will need to remove
and clean the nozzle.
► Follow the instructions in section 5.4 "Cleaning and Inspecting the Gluing Unit" [}70].

5.4 Cleaning and Inspecting the Gluing Unit
70 User Manual SIPLACE Glue Feeder 05/2020
Cleaning the gluing unit after operation
The recommended cleaning cycle for the gluing unit depends on your usage and the type of glue
used. All the following instructions apply for SMT glues based on epoxy resin but not for anaerobe,
snap cure or UV-curing glues.
●
If the Glue Feeder is used continuously during a production recipe, a shift or during two con-
secutive shifts, you will need to clean the gluing unit once a day or after approx. 24 hours.
●
If small recipe sizes are produced and the Glue Feeder is only used for a few hours, you can
store it uncleaned at room temperature (up to 25°C) until it is needed for the next recipe. How-
ever, if the overall time (production time + storage time) exceeds 24 hours, you will need to
clean the gluing unit.
●
When the Glue Feeder is used on a daily basis, the actuator O-ring and the guide bushing
need to be inspected and cleaned once a month or, if the Glue Feeder is only used occasion-
ally, inspect and clean the actuator O-ring and guide bushing after approx. 30 days of use. It
is important that the gluing unit is also cleaned under the guide bushing and actuator O-ring.
The jet plunger must be freely movable and not subjected to any major friction.
NOTICE
Follow the instructions
When performing cleaning and assembly work, follow all the instructions in section 5.4
"Cleaning and Inspecting the Gluing Unit" [}70].
