training indicated that the angle could be determined. Therefore the run-time image is not what the
software expects based on the device description. Pickup uncertainty is large enough to require that blob
analysis be used during device inspection. In such cases, during device training, the system uses the
device description to predict whether useful angle information will appear in the blob results. If the
system expects angle information to appear and it does not, then this error occurs.
Remedy: Check that the direction is correct. Also, check the part placement direction in PD. If the nozzle
edge protrudes from the part (the nozzle is too large) this error can also occur. Either improve the

accuracy of the device description, or reduce the pickup uncertainty so that blob analysis is no longer
required.
