3. Common Precautionary Items
Precautions before Use
Only a well-trained person should operate the machine.
Do not allow any untrained person to operate the machine.
Mishandling of the machine can cause a serious accident.
Before operating the machine, please read the instruction manual carefully for correct
operations.
Although the precautionary items have been reviewed repeatedly, an incident far beyond
our expectation may occur.
Not only follow the precautionary instructions described in the instruction manual but also
try to handle the machine carefully at your discretion all the time.
Confirm that no covers are disengaged before operating the machine.
If the machine is used with its cover(s) being detached, a serious accident may occur. Be sure
to attach them in place.
Make certain that no person or object comes in contact with the moving mechanisms of the
machine. Then, check safety and power up the machine to start operation.
Do not start the machine unless those working in the immediate area of the machine are
aware of hazards from moving parts.
Those who wear implanted pacemakers are not allowed to work inside the machine. This
machine uses strong permanent magnets in the moving areas of the X/Y beams. The
pacemaker may be affected by the magnetism and a serious accident will result.

If the bank feeder change cart is not set, a clearance will be left at the feeder setting area
and the operator will be exposed to danger.

Even after the [EMERGENCY STOP] switch is pressed, note that electrical power is supplied
to the control device.
To shutdown the power to all loads, set the power breaker to "OFF".
When "Emergency Switch Off" is required, it must be prepared outside the machine on the
customer side.

In principle, the overall operation of the machine including the button operations on the
operation panel and the touch screen must be controlled by only one person.
If there are more than one, ensure good communication by giving loud verbal instructions.
Before starting the automatic operation, check carefully that there is no person around the
machine (especially on the other side of the machine operation). Make sure that no objects
(tools, parts, etc.) are left behind.
Data may become unavailable due to breakdown or mishandling of the machine.
It is strongly recommended that the hard disk data be periodically backed up with the
network terminal (option).
Do not use the floppy disk drive in the control box. The drive is provided only for the
authorized maintenance personnel.
Be sure to strictly keep the above-mentioned instructions. Otherwise, not only wrong operations of
the machine but also personal injury will result.

Notes on Machine Operations
Please keep the instruction manual in a safe place within reach.
Follow the instructions in the instruction manual for correct handling of the machine.
Be sure to fully understand the contents of the safety instructions in the instruction manual
and follow the instructions.
Please pay special attention to the precautionary items labeled on the machine or
described in the instruction manual and be sure to keep them. When the precautionary
items are ignored, it will result in personal injury or property damage (damage to the
machine).
Be sure to follow the operational instructions described in the instruction manual.
Do not modify the machine nor use any parts other than the specified ones for the machine.
Be sure not to use the machine with its safety devices detached. Doing otherwise may
cause personal injury.
Also, be sure not to change the setting of the operating system nor install any software
additionally.
Do not perform any operations other than those described in the instruction manual.
Whenever a problem arises, regarding the machine operations, performance, etc., please
contact YAMAHA sales representatives.
This machine uses energetic driving systems and high voltage to run at high speed. This
power and voltage is high enough to cause death or serious injury. To avoid this danger,
respect the following guideline.
The machine must be used with the covers being attached.
Be sure to close the covers (door type) before operating the machine.
Do not disengage the interlock mechanism of the transparent covers (door type).
Whenever you feel danger or abnormality, immediately press the [EMERGENCY STOP]
switch to stop the machine. If the machine is kept running in abnormal condition, an
accident or a breakdown will result.
Confirm that the “LOCK” lamp (green) is ON on the operation panel before operating the
machine. If the “LOCK” lamp is not turned ON, the machine can be operated at any time
from both front and rear sides, endangering the operators around the machine.
When there is a problem with the machine, locate the cause and assess the condition. Set
the power breaker to “OFF.
After the problem has been rectified completely, reset the machine to its normal condition.
When the green lamp of the light tower is ON or flickering (ON and OFF), it indicates that
the static machine is in the “Automatic” mode (standby mode).
In case of a disaster of any kind, earthquake, storm, flood, fire, or lightning, immediately
stop the machine and turn off the power supply.
When the machine stops due to a component pickup error, be sure to remove the mispicked
component from the feeder and start the automatic operation.
Do not use any unspecified feeders.
