Precautionary Measures before Installation
If the machine is installed in unsatisfactory environmental conditions, it may malfunction due to
damage or breakdown. To avoid this, make preparations to install the machine as follows. When the
machine is scheduled to be transferred to another place, please contact YAMAHA sales
representatives in advance.
►
Select a place solid enough to support the mass of the machine.
It is recommended that the machine should be installed on the first floor.
When the machine has to be installed on a floor other than the first one, please contact
YAMAHA sales representatives.
►
Avoid any place that vibrates severely.
►
The ambient temperatures must be 20 ± 10°C and humidity 30 to 80%.
Any dew condensation must be avoided.
When the machine is transferred to another place and the ambient temperature rises more than the
surface of the machine, dew may condense under the condition described below. Note that dew
condensation may cause the machine to break down.
Condition of Dew Condensation
Dew may condense when the difference (based on "Humidity (%)") between the ambient
temperature of the destination (the place where the machine was transferred) and the surface
temperature of the machine reaches the values or more in the table below.
Humidity (%) of Destination
Differences between Ambient Temperature of Destination
and Surface Temperature of Machine
80 3 °C or more
70 6 °C or more
60 8 °C or more
50 10 °C or more
40 14 °C or more
30 18 °C or more
►
Ensure that the selected place is free of electric noise, etc.
Precautionary measures (prevention of noise generation, etc.,) must be taken for other
equipment to prevent the machine from malfunctioning.
►
Do not expose the machine to combustible or corrosive gas.
►
Select a place free of lamp soot and dust.
►
Level the machine at the correct height, using a level vial.
►
The machine should be free of obstacles around it for easy maintenance.
►
When the openings of the conveyors in the PCB input or output section are too big,
some measures must be taken on the customer side to avoid any clearance according to
the condition of the conveyors in the input and output machines and the condition of both
machines.

Power Supply
Confirm that the following power is supplied to the machine.
• Voltage : 200 ± 20 V AC, 3-Pha
se
• Maximum Apparent Power :12.1 kVA
Fluctuating voltage and noise in the power line can have not only a bad influence on the machine
but also trigger a malfunction of the machine, causing an accident. Take necessary measures to
prevent the other equipment from generating noises.
►
The primary power supply must be prepared on the local site.
• The grounding line (PE) must be connected first to the leading-in section of the primary power
supply.
• The 0.1
Ω
or less grounding must be provided, using a metal wire (Tensile Strength: 0.3 kN or
more) or an annealed copper wire (Diameter: 1.6 mm or more).
• When the ground line is connected, it must be longer than the other cables (L1, L2, and L3),
giving some leeway.
►
When an earth leakage breaker is used for the power supply to the machine, confirm that
it is a type of breaker that cancels the high-frequency element immediately after the rated
sensitivity current reaches 60 mA or higher.
• Leakage Current : less than 30 mA
Generally, an earth leakage breaker is not tripped when leakage current is less than 50% of the
rated sensitivity current. On the other hand, it may be tripped when leakage current reaches 50%
or more. When the power source contains some high-frequency elements, leakage current
increases, causing an earth leakage breaker to malfunction even though the machine is in the
normal condition if the breaker is a type that cannot cancel high-frequency elements.
Air Supply
Supply dry and clean air (Pressure: 0.45 to 0.69 MPa (4.6 to 7 kgf/cm2)) that does not contain
moisture, oil, and dust to the machine.
When the supplied air contains much moisture, etc., the machine may not work normally due to the
moisture, etc., accumulated in the machine.
Dry and Clean Air
Moisture : Dew Point -17°C or less (Atmospheric Pressure)
Oil : 0.1 mg/m3 or less (ANR)
Dust : Solid Material 0.01 µm or less
Data Backup
Data may become unavailable due to breakdown or mishandling of the machine. It is strongly
recommended that the hard disk data be periodically backed up with the network terminal (option).

Computer Viruses
When a program or data is corrupted abruptly, the computer makes unexpected system behavior, or
an abnormal window appears on the operation panel, the computer may be infected with a virus.
Computer viruses are bad programs written to deliberately invade a computer system without its
user's permission or knowledge. They can perform a triggered event or corrupt your precious data.
Antivirus programs are called "Vaccines" and used to remove or repair infected programs and files.
A virus-infected computer may spread the virus to other computers through communication systems
or by sharing diskettes (data storage media) between different computers.
Use a vaccine program to check if the built-in computer is infected with a virus if necessary.
Keep in mind that a computer virus cannot be removed, depending on what type of vaccine
program you are using. For this case, book the backup of data beforehand.
Power Failure
Instantaneous voltage drop due to power failure or lightning will cause the built-in computer to
break down and the basic and application programs to corrupt.
It is recommended that a DC uninterruptive power supply be used as a countermeasure against
instantaneous voltage drop.
Built-In Computer
A computer is built in the machine and used to control each internal mechanism of the machine,
save various data, and realize a user interface. When the power switch of the machine is turned off
while the computer is working (computer being accessed), the computer may break down, causing
the stored data and application programs to corrupt. Refer to “4.2 Power OFF” in “Chapter 2 (Vol. 1:
Guide)” for how to turn off the power switch of the machine.
Note on Startup Operation (Running-In Operation)
After the machine has been stopped for a long period of time, perform a running-in operation for
approximately 30 minutes to smoothly start up the machine.
Refer to “6. Running-In Operation” in “Chapter 3 (Vol. 1: Guide)” for the detailed information
on the running-in operation.
