3.4.2 Tip cleaning module
The central function of the tip cleaning module is the cleaning of the nozzle tip from metallic
residues. The cleaning is done in 2 steps and takes about 5 min.

Nozzle tip cleaning with acidic cleaning solution (90% water / 10% acidic)
●
Nozzle tip neutralization (demineralized water)

3 Magazine mounted to tip cleaning module
Description and function
For the cleaning the magazine is to be installed onto the tip cleaning module. If the magazine is
properly seated the nozzles are positioned so the nozzle tips dip into tubes on the tip cleaning
module (see picture above and below).
Fig.15: Nozzle position on the tubes
During the cleaning the tubes are flooded with cleaning solution so that the nozzle tip is immersed
in the solution again and again. Following the cleaning the process is repeated using deionized wa-
ter to safely remove any cleaning solution from the nozzle tip.
The chamber at the left can be used to check if liquid is applied and for the adjustment of the flood-
ing to prevent the pipes overflowing.

Description and function
The central function of the shaft cleaning module is the cleaning of the nozzle shaft from pollution
and debris. The cleaning is done in 2 steps and takes about 5 min.
●
Nozzle shaft cleaning with alkaline cleaning solution (90% water / 10% alkaline)
●
Nozzle shaft drying
For the cleaning the magazine is to be moved from the nozzle tip cleaning module onto the nozzle
shaft cleaning module. If the magazine is properly seated the nozzles are again positioned so the
nozzle tips dip into tubes on the shaft cleaning module (see picture above).
During the cleaning the actuator moves downwards until the gaskets (red) are sitting inside the
nozzle. The nozzles are then blasted with cleaning solutions with a series of blasts. Following the
cleaning the process is repeated using air to remove any cleaning solution out of the shaft and to
dry it.
After that the cleaning is finished and the magazine can be removed from the NCS.

4.1 Safety instruction for transportation
WARNING
Observe the applicable accident prevention regulations!
► The applicable accident prevention regulations concerning the transportation of heavy
goods must be followed.
WARNING
Risk of injuries!
► Make sure that there are no people in the hazard area.
DANGER
Risk of nozzle cleaning station tilting!
There is a risk of tilting if the required specifications for the fork-lift and the attachment
points at the nozzle cleaning station are not observed!
► The nozzle cleaning station may only be lifted for transportation from the longitudinal
side.
► The forks of the fork-lift must be pushed between the wheels (see fig. below).
► Only use a fork-lift which is specified for transportation of the nozzle cleaning station.
Observe the specifications of the fork-lift.
DANGER
Risk of tilting the transportation crate or the pallet!
There is a risk of tilting if the required specifications for the fork-lift are not observed!
► Make sure you only use the specified equipment for transportation. Observe the spe-
cifications of the transportation equipment.
DANGER
Transportation only permitted on the original ASM pallet!
When transporting the nozzle cleaning station on a pallet, you may only use the original
ASM pallet. Transportation on the original ASM pallet is the safest form of transportation, to
avoid tilting of the nozzle cleaning station. The shipping braces and steel spacers must be
fitted for this.
► Transport the NCS on the pallet as near as possible to the final site of use.
► The NCS can also be safely transported on the original ASM pallet, without the
wooden crate.
DANGER
Risk to life!
Before moving or handling the NCS, safely stop its operation and disconnect it from all ex-
ternal power sources (electrical, compressed air, or other, as applicable).
