Preparing the Head Mount
Assemble the head mount. For details, refer to the assembly instructions "Universal placement head
mounting rack" [DE+EN: 00196371-xx].
Vacuum test
Set the nozzles for the current nozzle configuration down in the nozzle changer.
Before you begin maintenance work, perform a vacuum test. Use the calibration nozzles for this. If
vacuum value irregularities occur at certain segments, take a closer look at these during mainte
-
nance work. Note down the numbers of the problematic segments for later reference.
Removing the placement head
Dismantle the placement head and remove it from the placement machine. For details, refer to the
service manual.
Fit the placement head onto the head mount.
Dismantle the front part of the head. For details, refer to the service manual.

CAUTION
ESD
Connect the assembly mount ESD connection to an ESD connection at the workplace.
Always observe the ESD regulations described in the user manual.
Remove one sleeve.
Clean the read unit lens with a cottonwool bud mois

tened with ethanol.
Fit the sleeve back into place.

Z Axis
Use a brush or cleaning stick to clean the Z axis
toothed belt (1).
Clean the rollers and toothed wheels with a cleaning
stick or a lint-free cloth.
Check the toothed belt for wear or damage.
If the toothed belt is worn or damaged, it has to be re
-
placed by authorized personnel. For removal and in
-
stallation details, read the Service manual.
Grease the new toothed belt slightly with "ISOFLEX
TOPAS NCA 52". Then remove excess grease with a
lint-free cloth.
(2) Check that the Z axis linear guide runs easily and
without play. Please contact your SIPLACE Service
team if you have any problems with this.
Check the jaws and the raceway for damage. Please
contact your SIPLACE Service team if you have any
problems with this.
Move the Z axis into its bottom position.
Clean the grooves in the miniature roller table at the
front (1) and back (2) using cleaning sticks dipped in
ethanol.
Wipe the needle of the oil dispenser clean
[00367071-xx].
CAUTION!
Do not force oil out of the oil dispenser. A visible drop
would be too much oil.
(3) Simply place the needle immediately beside the
ball cage/bearing on the grooves of the guide rail.
The action will cause sufficient oil to reach the
grooves (capillary effect).
Move the Z axis up and down several times to distrib
-
ute the oil.

CAUTION!
Make sure that no dirt or grease gets into the vacuum
channels.
Wipe the star using a lint-free cloth.
Moisten a lint-free cloth with ISOFLEX TOPAS NCA
52. Use this to grease the running surface (1) of the
star brake, so that a thin film of grease is present.
Remove any excess grease visible with a lint-free
cloth.
CAUTION!
Take care not to damage the sleeve retaining springs in
the segments.
Do not push the cleaning stick into the segment as far as
the retaining spring, otherwise the retaining springs may
be pulled out.
(1) Carefully clean the segments using a cleaning
stick moistened with ethanol.
(2) Remove any visible dirt around the segments.
Carefully remove the distributor together with the two
O-rings. For removal and installation details, read the
Service manual.
