7.4 Access to the Option “Vision System”
Access to the option “Vision system” is only open to user class “setter” and higher. The privileged user must
prove this by entering a password into the line computer. Only after these preconditions have been satisfied is
the option “Vision system” added to the other options in the header line of the main menu.

Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the option “Vision system”. At the same time the footer line pro-
vides a short explanatory text for each option.

Press the RETURN key. The selection menu “VISION SYSTEM” with the two options “Teach fiducial” and
“Test component” and the version number of the installed vision firmware will be displayed on the screen
(see Figure next page).
Depending on your selection, which is shown by a dark background area, you move on to the further options
of the menu “Teach fiducial” or “Test component”. Both menus are described in detail in Sections 7.5 and 7.6.

tion for the options “Teach fiducial” and “Test component”. Each flow diagram begins with the menu “Vision
system” as entry point and shows you the hierarchical structure of all the menu options.

7.5 Teaching the Fiducial
7.5.1 “Teach fiducial” Flow Diagram
The "Teach fiducial” flow diagram shows all menu options with their sub-functions in graphic form. The menus
are marked by a solid line surround and the dialog boxes by a dashed line surround.
7.5.2 Explanations Concerning the Flow Diagram
7.5.2.1 Menus
In the menus the individual options are arranged vertically. All six menus contain:

Edit fiducial
–
Color graduation
–
Save fiducial data
–
Display error
The menu “Save fiducial data” is displayed every time you wish to quit the menu “Teach fiducial” after having
created new or changed existing fiducial data. You thus have the choice of saving or discarding these fiducial
parameters.
As you can see in the flow diagram the menu system has a hierarchical structure. The individual menus can
be quit by pressing the “ESC” key. You then return to the previous menu.
7.5.2.2 Dialog Boxes
For data input, selection of options, displaying values, and initiating actions, the system offers the following
dialog boxes:

Input fiducial numbers
–
Program transformation table
You can quit the dialog boxes by pressing the keys “RETURN” or “ESC”.
