4. Option units
4.1 Marking unit
The YSi-V can be optionally equipped with a marking unit that draws marks and writes character strings on
boards depending on the results of board inspection.

Marker pen
Draws marks and writes character strings on boards.
n
Marker pen holder
Holds the marker pen. When the dedicated pen is in contact with the stopper (upper) of the pen holder, the height
becomes correct.
n
Marker pen clamp knob
Use this knob to clamp the marker pen. Turning the knob clockwise tightens the clamp and turning it counterclockwise
loosens the clamp.
n
Pen cap
This is used as the cap for the marker pen tip. The cap moves back and forth, and is in the back position when the
marking pen is being used.
TIP
For instructions on how to use the marking unit, see the option manual "Marking unit" at the end of this manual.

Laser Measurement
The Laser Measurement is one of the Algorithms. Use the laser height sensor to measure the height in the step. If it is
judged whether or not the measurement result is within the range set by the user. When the measurement result is within
the range, it is determined as “OK”. If not, it is determined as “NG”.
n
Major applications
Checking Body Lifting
Measures the BGA height to detect defective connections caused by a Body Lifting of BGA, pinching parts and so forth.
It also measures the height and other parameters of recessed polarity marks to detect the polarity.
Checking Lifted Lead
Measures the differences in heights of lead parts such as a QFP and SOP to detect a Lifted Lead.
Checking Chip Tombstoning
Measures the differences in heights of chips and other parts to detect a Chip Tombstoning or presence/absence of
parts.
TIP
For instructions on how to use the laser height sensor, see the option manual "Laser height sensor" at the end of this
manual.
