this event, the new 15" Touch Screen E156 monitor is only installed as an option or as dictated
by servicing requirements. In this case, the existing MCM 15 P1 adapter on the PC carrier 3 is
replaced by the e156 adapter (for article no. see Section 2.5.5).
– Installing the option MTC during the course of the upgrading:
The opening for the MTC does NOT exist in machine frames up to series no. 449. In this case
you will also require the "Component reject box, component table" -> see: instructions for ret-
rofitting MTC on the S-25 HM.
– If RV12-DLM1 heads are installed on the machine to be upgraded and their vacuum genera-
tors are still seated on metal brackets (instead of rubber-metal vibration buffers), these buffers
must also be installed here during the course of the upgrading.
Required:
In addition, one enclosure (DLM1_S23, Item no. 003455365-03 per 12-segment head) from
the retrofit kit of the RV6-DLM1 head (see: Section 2.5).
2.2.3 Determining the Total Time Expended incl. Options (Approximate Values)
Upgrading on customer’s premises, including installation of options:
– Approx. 5 hours to install hardware EXCLUDING options and software upgrade V 502.xx at the
station.
– Approx. 1 each for software upgrade V 502.xx at the station computer and line computer
– Installation of options during the course of upgrading:
– Approx. 1 hr. per RV6-DLM1 head with nozzle changer RV6 Standard for mech. installation
– Approx. 5 hr. per RV6 head and nozzle changer RV6 Standard for
adjusting dynamics, calibrating head, component camera and nozzle changer, RV map-
ping, precision calibration
– Approx. 4.5 hr. per MTC (see: retrofitting instructions for MTC), complete
– Approx. 4.5 hr. total for "Head PCB, modular" and "PCB camera Multicolor" at both
gantries, including calibration of heads and cameras
see: retrofitting instructions for "PCB camera Multicolor")
2.2.4 Scope of Upgrade, Installation of the Following Components
– Conveyor control TSP 210, backplane and I/O boards
– Relay for automatic shutoff of compressed air
– 15" touch-screen monitor with monitor carrier (only if customer still has a monitor with a 14"
screen)
– Nozzle changer bar with the two fiducials for position recognition

– Software version V 502.01 at station computer and line computer
NOTE:
The option MTC is possible following upgrading (see: "Options ..." below). 2
2.2.5 Options Possible after Upgrading
– 6-segment revolver head, modular (RV6-DLM1), at one or both gantries.
If there is only one 6-segment head, modular, the preferred location for installation is
gantry 1.
-> see: conversion instructions, Item no. 00191684-03 (G + E) and Section 2.8.7.
– Nozzle changer for the 6-segment revolver head, modular (Section 2.8.8).
– MTC
-> see: retrofitting instructions, Item no. 00192792-03 (G + E)
– Head board, modular
-> see: retrofitting instructions, Item no. 00192919-01 (G + E) (in progress).
– PCB camera Multicolor (requirement: modular head board).
-> see: retrofitting instructions, Item no. 00192232-01 (G + E)
NOTE:
The 6-segment revolver head is also named 6-nozzle head (on the user interface). 2

2.3 Brief Overview of Work Sequence 07/01 Issue
70
2.3 Brief Overview of Work Sequence
S-23 HM machines can be upgraded to S-25 HM (platform 2) as follows: 2
1. De-install the old touch-screen driver (see: Section 2.8.1)
2. Hardware modification (see: Section 2.8)
Å Undock the movable component changeover table, i.e., disconnect it and move it out of the
machine.
Å Turn the machine OFF and isolate it from the mains. Turn compressed air OFF and bleed
at needle valve.
Å Install conveyor control TSP 210, backplane and I/O boards KSP 219.
Å Install relay for the automatic compressed air shutoff.
Å Attach the new set of labels for feeder locations and gantries
and overview labels for servo unit and control unit.
Å If a 14" monitor is still fitted: Remove the monitor, mount the e156 adapter on the PC carrier
3, place the 15" monitor e156 on the adapter and connect the monitor.
Å Optional: Install 6-segment head on gantry 1 and/or 2 depending on the configuration you
wish.
Å Optional: when installing a 6-segment revolver head when NO MTC is being installed:
Install new nozzle changer RV6 Standard on the pertinent gantry.
For retrofitting the MTC and the nozzle changer MTC -> see: “Retrofitting instructions”,
Item no. 00192792-02 (G + E)
.
Å On the nozzle changer RV12 Standard: Mount new nozzle wiper (bar) with 2 fiducials. The
fiducials are already on the nozzle changer RV6 Standard (from the retrofit kit).
The SW V 502.01 needs the fiducials for position recognition.
3. Firmware upgrade (see: Section 2.9.3)
Å Conveyor control TSP210: If no firmware is installed -> load firmware (boot disk MC).
Load the current version later in SITEST (download separately, manually).
Å Axis boards: In case of BIOS version under 0207: Read in BIOS version 0207 or higher with
CAN_Terminal. Correct BIOS version present -> Download BIOS firmware later in SITEST
(download separately, manually).
4. Installing the software V 502.01 at the station (see: Section 2.9.3)
Å BEFORE the installation:
Connect the monitor correctly (Touch Screen). No error message is transmitted.
