1.14 Ablauf: Software-Upgrade am Linienrechner
Å Prüfen Sie spätestens jetzt anhand der Software-Versionsbeschreibung LRU V 502.xx (Art.-
Nr. siehe Abschn. 1.7), ob die VORAUSSETZUNGEN für das Upgrade gegeben sind.
Å Entnehmen Sie alle neuen Funktionen / Abläufe der o. g. Software-Versionsbeschrei-
bung !
Å Sie benötigen:
Software LRU V502.01: Boot- und Installations Disk und CD, Art.-Nr. 00358516-01
Å Installieren Sie die Software LRU V 502.01 anhand der o. g. Beschreibung:
Å Beachten Sie beim Upgrade die Vorgehensweise bei zentraler Datenhaltung (siehe Soft-
ware-Versionsbeschreibung, Abschnitt "Installationsanleitungen/Upgrade-Anleitungen").
Å Beachten Sie die Reihenfolge der Schritte am LRU:
- für die Hochrüstung / Änderung von S-23 HM auf S-25 HM und
- für die Vorgehensweise beim Kopieren der Rüstung von einer S-23 HM auf eine S-25 HM,
wie in der o. g. Versionsbeschreibung, im Abschnitt "Neue Funktionen" angegeben.
Å Passen Sie am Linienrechner, im Konfigurationseditor (Detail siehe Software-Versionsbe-
schreibung LRU V 502.xx), die Softwareversion der einzelnen Stationen der Linie an die
real an der jeweiligen Station vorhandene Version an.

Å Gehen Sie auch hierfür - aufgrund der Vielzahl der neuen Merkmale der Software - nach der
Software-Versionsbeschreibung LRU V 502.xx vor!
Å Definieren Sie nach der Hochrüstung im Stationseditor eine neue Station als S25 HM (= neuer
Stationstyp), mit den entsprechenden Bestückköpfen und Optionen.
Å Bestehende Rüstungen können über den RT-Konverter umgewandelt werden, wie im Detail in
der Software-Versionsbeschreibung ausgeführt.

2.1 Overview
Only Siemens Dematic SMD Service is permitted to upgrade / retrofit the hardware complete with
the software. This manual describes the upgrading of a SIPLACE S-23 HM (platform 1) to the
SW V 502.xx
(platform 2), on the customer’s premises. The condition of the supplied machines
must be taken into account for the upgrading during commissioning (e.g., no nozzle changers yet,
empty-tape duct, etc.).
During the course of the upgrading process, details of the possible options will be described and/
or you will be referred to the pertinent separate manuals.
A downgrade is technically possible, however in this case the original machine data will have to
be saved. 2
2.2 Information Prior to Upgrading
2.2.1 Documentation Required in Addition to This Manual
– All documentation required --> see: Section 2.7
2.2.2 Initial State of S-23 HM to be Clarified with Customer
– Line computer UNIX:
Do the minimum requirements for installation of the LRU V 502.01 exist?
-> Requirements: see Software Version Description LRU V 502.01.
– S-23 machines up to serial no. 350 inclusive are still equipped with a 14" monitor mounted on
a PC carrier 3 with a functional status of 01 or 02. Since a 15" monitor is always required for
upgrading to software version 502.xx, you will have to take a 15" e156 Touch Screen Monitor
and an e156 adapter including the mounting components (see Section 2.5.5 for the article
number) when carrying out this upgrade.
Fitting the e156 adapter modifies the PC carrier 3 with functional status 01 or 02 to allow the
15" monitor to be fitted as described in Section 2.8.6.
– If the S-23 machine to be upgraded already has a 15" MCM15P1 monitor (article no.
00350896-01) installed (machines with serial nos. as of 351), this monitor remains fitted. In
