4. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Follow the safety notes in chapter 1!
As a rule, the cooling unit must be transported in an upright position and without any water
inside!
Internal transport is performed using a forklift truck, lift truck or crane.
The cooling unit must be set down on an even surface to prevent the lower frame from deforming.
Hazardous goods regulations apply when transporting the cooling unit with a refrigerant fill
quantity > 12 kg (see UN 2857).
4.1 Transport specifications
- Weight (see "Technical data")
- Main dimensions (see "Technical data")
- Ambient temperatures -20°C to +60°C
At ambient temperatures < 0°C, the water circuits, evaporators, pump(s), water filters and tank(s)
must be completely drained.
(See chapter 8 "Decommissioning/shutdown")
In the case of transport after operation with water, we recommend rinsing the cooling unit
with a water-glycol mixture of 60% : 40% after draining!

4.2 Transport – forklift truck
When transporting the cooling unit with a forklift truck, only the relevant openings on the wide side in
the lower frame of the device must be used. Ensure that the forks are inserted horizontally under the
entire unit depth and that they are positioned symmetrically with regard to the cooling unit's centre of
gravity before starting to lift.
The unit must be lifted slowly!

4.3 Transport – lift truck
Transport from the narrow side:
The cooling unit can be transported with two lift trucks supported underneath from the narrow side.
The minimum fork length must be observed to ensure that the fork length can pass beneath both
crossmembers.
Both lift trucks must be raised at the same time to prevent the cooling unit from shifting.
The unit must be lifted slowly!
Transport from the wide side:
The lift truck forks should be inserted under the entire unit depth; the fork rollers must project
beyond the unit depth.
Only then must the cooling unit be raised, while taking into account the centre of gravity.
The unit must be lifted slowly!
The cooling unit can be transported using a lift truck, with the forks inserted into the wide side,
underneath the openings, positioned symmetrically with regard to the unit's centre of gravity.
