13. OPERATOR DUTIES
Follow the safety notes in chapter 1!
The cooling unit must be de-energised before it can be opened!
The monitoring and testing must be performed by qualified personnel (in accordance with
the directives (EU) 517/2014, (EU) 2015/2067 and EN13313) or by a specialised refrigeration
engineering company, taking into account the environmental requirements regarding
recycling and disposal of materials and components.
13.1 Special obligations for operators of refrigerating systems in the
European Union
As part of global efforts to improve climate protection, the European Parliament has passed various
regulations on the reduction of emissions.
As part of the RIEDEL Care agreement, the leakage tightness tests required by the legislator and
the accompanying documentation for all commissioned maintenance can be completed free of
charge.
Please speak to our service technicians about this or send us a brief e-mail to
service-riedel@glendimplex.de.
We are happy to advise you on the scope of services appropriate for your system.
As of 01/01/2015, and valid for systems containing refrigerants with global warming potential
1
The following leakage test requirements exist:
The leakage check must only be performed by certified personnel!
The first leakage check after commissioning is performed accordingly after
12, 6 or 3 months.
1.The refrigerant leakage tightness test must be carried out in accordance with the F-Gas Regulation (EU) 517/
2014.
The regulation (EU) 517/2014 has replaced the regulation (EC) 842/2006 since 01/01/2015.

measures carried out, and obligation to present the information to the responsible
authority on request;
Duty for recovery of refrigerants only on the part of certified personnel and companies.
13.2 Recurring checks
In addition to the duties detailed under 13.1, monitoring and inspection of the refrigerant circuit and
pressure vessels is also required over the entire operational life of the cooling unit. This must be
performed or commissioned by the system operator in accordance with national regulations!
As part of the RIEDEL Care agreement, the required tests and accompanying documentation for all
commissioned maintenance can be completed free of charge. If no relevant specifications regarding
retesting are provided in the national regulations, device-specific retesting is required in accordance
with EN 378-4.

14. DIAGNOSIS OF UNPLANNED SWITCH OFFS
Follow the safety notes in chapter 1!
The diagnosis is based on the wiring diagram, flow chart and messages displayed on the control
and operating unit.
Regulation is based on the main setpoint value.
Displays in the control and operating unit
See chapter 11. Operation
Frequent, repeated resetting or restarting, particularly in the case of high- and low-pressure
cut-offs, can result in damage to the cooling unit that is not covered under warranty!
