3.4 Measuring Segment Offset I (Top Segment Offset)
NOTE
Prerequisite for this measurement is that the component camera has been calibrated.
●
Carry out the preparatory steps proceeding as described in section 3.1 and section 3.1.1.
●
From the "Vision system" menu select the Component camera option and press the RETURN key.
The "Component camera" menu is displayed on the screen.
●
Select the All seg. offsets I function and press the RETURN key. The measurement is performed on all
12 segments of the active gantry.
●
Press the ESC key upon completion of the measuring procedure to return to the "Component camera"
menu.
●
If you wish to view the values thus determined after the calibration procedure has been completed, select
the Display cam values menu item and press the RETURN key.
The "Display cam values" menu opens.
●
Select the Display segm. offs.I function and press the RETURN key.
The offset values in x and y-direction are displayed on the screen for each segment.
●
Press the ESC key twice to return to the "Component camera" menu.
NOTE
In addition to the "All seg. offsets I" function (measurement of all segments) the program also offers the
possibility to measure each segment individually using the "Single seg. offset I" function.
●
At the appropriate point in the program select the Single seg. offset I function in place of the "All seg.
offsets I" function and press the RETURN key.
The "Single seg. offset I" menu opens.
Overview of the Functions:
-
Enter segment number to enter the segment number
-
Measure segm. offs.I to measure the x and y-offset values of the selected segment
●
Select the Enter segment number menu item and press the RETURN key.
The input menu for the segment number opens.

●
Enter the number of the segment to be measured and confirm your entry by pressing the
RETURN key.
●
Exit from the input menu by pressing the ESC key.
●
Select the
Measure segm. offs.I
function and press the RETURN key. The selected segment is
measured. The further procedure corresponds to that described for the "All seg. offsets I" function.
3.5 Calibration of the Machine Zero Point
NOTE
Verify that the calibration data for the component camera, PCB camera, and PCB/
component camera offset have already been determined.
On SIPLACE 80S machines, the calibration of the machine zero point must be performed for both gantries
directly one after the other!
●
Place setting gauge onto the locating pins in the elevating table.
WARNING
∆
!
∆
!
Make absolutely sure that the setting gauge is so installed that its height is flush with the upper edge of
the conveyor. An acute DANGER OF CRASH exists when the gantry axes are moved with the
lifting
table in raised position
with the setting gauge mounted
.
●
From the main menu select the
Gantry positions
option and press the RETURN key.
The "Gantry positions" menu is displayed on the screen.
Overview of the Functions:
-
Move to position Menu to approach the machine positions
-
Calibrate Calibration menu (MA zero point, pick-up positions, calibration piece position,
PCB reference corner position)
-
Display position Menu to display the positions determined under "Calibrate"
-
Double gantry funct. The function is not available in this software version.

●
From the "Gantry positions" menu select the
Move to position
option and press the RETURN key. The
"Move to position" menu is displayed on the screen.
Overview of the Functions:
-
Park position to approach the park position
-
Machine zero-point to approach the machine zero point (measuring hole in the setting gauge or in
the segment of the calibration piece pocket) with the PCB camera
-
Pos.calibration tool to approach the position of the calibration piece in the calibration piece pocket with
the PCB camera
-
Track 1 to approach track 1 with the PCB camera
-
Track 120 to approach track 120 with the PCB camera
-
Fixed PCB corner
I
to approach the PCB reference corner position
I
with the PCB camera
(on SIPLACE 80S machines only possible with gantry 1)
●
Select the
Machine zero-point
function, press the RETURN key and the START button.
The PCB camera moves over the measuring hole for the MA zero point.
●
Switch the monitor to the PCB camera using key combination ALT+8.
●
Check whether the measuring hole for the machine zero point is located in the search field of the camera.
●
If the maesuring hole is not within the PCB camera’s field of view, the zero point correction of the gantry
axes must be changed until the measuring hole is located in the search window.
●
Switch the monitor back to the normal program mode using key combination ALT+9.
●
Press the ESC key to return to the "Gantry positions" menu.
●
Select the
Calibrate
menu item and press the RETURN key. The "Calibrate" menu is displayed on the
screen.
Overview of the Functions:
-
Machine zero-point to calibrate the machine zero point
-
Track 1 to calibrate the position of track 1
-
Track 120 to calibrate the position of track 120
-
Tr. 1 no positioning to determine the position of the measuring hole in the setting gauge and to save the
values determined as the pick-up position of track 1
(The PCB camera must first be taught over the measuring hole of the setting gauge).
