NOTE
The "Cal.noz.chang.compl." function is used if all seven magazines of the nozzle changer are completely
occupied. Moreover, all 12 nozzles must be present at the revolver head.
If the nozzle changer is not completely occupied, the x and y-values must be determined separately for each
magazine using the "Calibrate magazine" function.
●
Select the
Cal.noz.chang.compl.
function and press the RETURN key.
The PCB camera approaches the measuring holes of all magazines in the nozzle changer and then calcu-
lates from the positions determined the x and y-values for each magazine compartment. If the nozzle
changer is not completely occupied, select the
Magazine [1 .. 7]
menu option and press the RETURN key.
The input field for the magazine number opens.
●
Enter the desired magazine number and confirm your entry by pressing the RETURN key.
●
Press the ESC key.
●
Select the
Calibrate magazine
function and press the RETURN key.
The PCB camera approaches the measuring hole of the selected magazine and subsequently that of the
next magazine and then calculates from the positions determined the x and y-values of the magazine com-
partments.
●
Select the
Disp. nozzle positions
function and press the RETURN key.
A comparison of the setpoint values versus the actually determined values in x and y-direction is displayed
on the screen for each selected compartment (garage) of the selected magazine.
●
Select the
Garage [1 .. 12]
menu option and press the RETURN key.
The input field for the garage number opens.
●
Enter the number of an unoccupied garage and confirm your entry by pressing the RETURN key.
●
Press the ESC key.
●
Select the
Return nozzle
function and press the RETURN key. The nozzle is returned to the garage.
NOTE
When the height of all nozzle changer garages is determined, the z-position that was read most recently is
saved upon "Return nozzle" or "Pick up nozzle".
●
Select the
Magazine [1 .. 7]
menu option and press the RETURN key.
The input field for the magazine number opens.
●
Enter the first available magazine (e.g.: 1) and confirm your entry by pressing the RETURN key.
●
Press the ESC key.
●
Select the
Garage [1 .. 12]
menu option and press the RETURN key.
The input field for the garage number opens.
●
Enter the number of an unoccupied garage and confirm your entry by pressing the RETURN key.
●
Press the ESC key.

●
Select the
Return nozzle
function and press the RETURN key. The nozzle is returned to the garage.
●
Thereafter, select the
Pick up nozzle
function and press the RETURN key.
The nozzle is picked up. (The height determined is displayed. Note down the value of the z-position).
●
Select the
Magazine [1 .. 7]
menu option and press the RETURN key.
The input field for the magazine number opens.
●
Enter the number of the last available magazine (e.g.: 7) and press the RETURN key.
●
Repeat the measuring procedure on the magazine with the smaller z-position. The height thus determined
is then saved upon "Saving the machine data".
●
For the z-position to be entered for all magazines, the
Cal.noz.chang.compl.
calibration procedure must
be repeated.
NOTE
If a magazine is calibrated after a nozzle has been picked up or returned, the z-position value of that nozzle
will always be saved as the current value. It is therefore important that the z-position value is correct.
NOTE
The "Pick up nozzle" function will measure an incorrect z-position if a nozzle is still present at the head.
It is therefore important that the correct operational sequence be adhered to when determining the height of
the z-position. (Nozzle is to be returned and then to be picked up).
NOTE
The X,Y-position of the reject box is only determined when the 7th magazine is measured.
●
To determine the height of the rejecting position select the
Reject nozzle
function and press the
RETURN key.
The nozzle is discarded into the reject box. (The height determined is displayed).
●
Press the ESC key three times to return to the SITEST main menu.
●
Save the current calibration data proceeding as described in section 3.12.

3.11.2 Calibration of the IC-Nozzle Changer
●
To calibrate the IC-nozzle changer, select the
Noz.changer IC-head
option from the "Nozzle changer"
menu and press the RETURN key.
The "Noz.changer IC-head" menu is displayed on the screen.
Overview of the Functions:
-
Cal.noz.chang.compl. to determine the x and y-values for each nozzle changer compartment
-
Calibr. fiducial 1 to calibrate reference marking "1" (marking "1" is close to the PCB conveyor)
-
Calibr. fiducial 2 to calibrate reference marking "2" (marking "2" is close to the component table)
-
Disp. nozzle positions to display the values determined for each nozzle changer compartment
-
Pick up nozzle to pick up the nozzle from the selected nozzle changer compartment
-
Return nozzle to return the nozzle to the selected nozzle changer compartment
(determination of the z-height)
-
Garage [1..20] to select the nozzle changer compartment
-
Positions to display the pick-up positions.
(The data can be edited, if required.)
NOTE
For the calibration of the IC-nozzle changer it is necessary that a magazine is present in the 1st and 4th
magazine location of the nozzle changer.
For the determination of the nozzle positions, reference marking "1" and
reference marking "2" must be
calibrated.
●
Select the
Cal.noz.chang.compl.
function and press the RETURN key.
The PCB camera approaches the measuring holes (reference markings "1" and "2") in the nozzle changer
and calculates from the positions determined the x and y-values for each nozzle changer compartment.
●
Select the
Disp. nozzle positions
function and press the RETURN key.
A comparison of the setpoint values versus the actually determined values in x and y-direction is displayed
on the screen for each selected nozzle changer compartment.
●
If you wish, for example, to calibrate reference marking "1", select the
Calibr. fiducial 1
function and press
the RETURN key.
The PCB camera approaches reference marking "1" (measuring hole 1) in the nozzle changer and calcu-
lates, from the values determined, the nozzle pick-up position.
