●
If you wish to change the resolution that is used to determine the data during the mapping run, select the
Mapping mode
option from the "Mapping" menu and press the RETURN key.
The "Mapping mode" selection menu opens.
Explanation of the options:
-
Standard resolution 13 x 11 measuring points are determined with a fiducial spacing of 40 mm
-
High resolution 26 x 21 measuring points are determined with a fiducial spacing of 20 mm
●
Select the desired mapping resolution and press the RETURN key.
●
Press the ESC key to return to the "Mapping" menu.
●
From the "Mapping" menu select the
PCB-mapping
function and press the RETURN key.
The "PCB-mapping" menu is displayed on the screen.
Overview of the Functions:
-
Mapp.-plate number to open the input menu for the number of the mapping plate
-
Mapping run to start the mapping run
-
Mapping cont. run to start the continuous mapping run
-
Mapping check run to approach the mapping positions (one position per row) for checking purposes
-
Display mapping data to display the mapping data determined
-
Mapping data ct. run to display the data determined during the continuous mapping run
-
Display control data to display the setpoint positions calculated upon the mapping check
(taking into account the correction values from the measured values file, the
rotational offset, the gantry offset, etc.)
-
Continue PCB-mapping to continue mapping from the entered measuring point onwards
-
Mapp. both gantries to perform the mapping run for both gantries of SIPLACE 80S
(Gantry changeover is carried out automatically. The mapping run is first
performed for gantry 1, thereafter for gantry 2.)

NOTE
Each mapping plate is delivered with a diskette containing a measured values file. This file contains the
values of the deviation of the measuring points from their setpoint positions. These values are required for
PCB mapping for correction purposes. Following the input of the plate number (see below) the measured
values file is read in from diskette and only thereafter can the PCB mapping run be started.
●
Place the diskette supplied with the mapping plate into the floppy disk drive.
●
From the "PCB-mapping" menu select the
Mapp.-plate number
option and press the RETURN key. The
"Mapp.-plate number" input menu opens.
●
Enter the mapping plate number, confirm your entry by pressing the RETURN key and press the ESC key
to return to the "PCB-mapping" menu.
The measured values file associated with the mapping plate is read in.
The "Mapping run", "Mapping cont. run" etc. options can now be selected.
●
Select
Mapping run
function and press the RETURN key. The active gantry performs the mapping run.
After the mapping run is completed, the data determined will be automatically saved.
NOTE
On SIPLACE 80S machines it is good practice to select the
Mapp. both gantries
function instead of the
Mapping run
function so that the mapping run is performed for both gantries without
having to switch from
gantry 1 to gantry 2 (Select gantry). When the mapping run of gantry 1 is completed, gantry 1 is automatically
moved to the park position and subsequently the mapping run for gantry 2 is performed.
●
To review the mapping data determined, select the
Display mapping data
function and press the
RETURN key. The data determined are displayed on the screen.
NOTE
To increase the accuracy of the mapping run, the values measured are compared with each measuring
point (position). The maximum permissible deviation (delta) of the measured values determined during the
current measurement run must not be exceeded in comparison with the previous measurement.
When PCB mapping is completed, the number of the positions that did not comply with these require-
ments is displayed.
●
Press the ESC key three times to return to the SITEST main menu.
NOTE
The procedure described below is only required if on a SIPLACE 80S the PCB mapping procedure is per-
formed by means of the
Mapping run
function
rather than the
Mapp. both gantries
function.
CAUTION
∆
!
Move gantry 1 to the park position using the menu functions of the "Gantry positions" menu (see
section 3.5).

●
Select the
Select gantry
menu option and press the RETURN key.
The "Select gantry" menu opens.
●
Select the
gantry 2 active
for gantry 2 and press the RETURN key.
●
Press the ESC key to return to the SITEST main menu.
NOTE
When switching from one gantry to the other make sure that the position of the mapping plate is not
changed.
●
From the main menu select the
Mapping
option and press the RETURN key.
The "Mapping" menu is displayed on the screen.
●
From the "Mapping" menu select the
PCB-mapping
function and press the RETURN key.
The "Mapping" menu is displayed on the screen.
●
Select the
Mapping run
function and press the RETURN key. The active gantry performs the mapping
run. When the mapping run is completed, the data determined will automatically be saved.
●
Remove the mapping plate for PCB mapping.
●
Press the ESC key twice to return to the SITEST main menu.
NOTE
Do not
terminate your SITEST program session, but subsequently perform PCB mapping and in the case of
SIPLACE 80F machines, also IC-mapping.
