1.2 System Requirements
SIPLACE Explorer V2.2 provides various installation variants for the different components: 1
– Factory Layout Central Installation (CI)
– Factory Layout Distributed Installation (DI)
– Single Line Layout
We recommend that you use one of these installation variants for your system. For a detailed de-
scription, please see Section “Standard Installation of SIPLACE Explorer” on page 17. 1
1.2.1 Factory Layout - SIPLACE Explorer Server
1.2.1.1 Hardware
We recommend using an Econel 100. If your system uses other hardware, this hardware must
meet the following requirements: 1
– 3.2 GHz processor
–2 GB RAM
– 160 GB available hard-disk space
–DVD ROM drive
If your system uses hardware with low performance data, you can expect reduced system perfor-
mance for SIPLACE Explorer. 1
1.2.1.2 Software
– System environment - one of the following versions:
– Windows 2003 server with SP1
– Windows 2003 server R2
– Database - one of the following versions:
– Microsoft SQL 2000 with SP4
– SQL Server 2005
– Java Runtime Environment (J2SE RTE 5.0 update 7 or SDK 5.0),
included on the Support Media DVD
– Apache Tomcat v.5.5.9.x web server,
included on the Support Media DVD
– MS XML Core Services 6.0,

The following versions are supported but if problems should occur, you will need to update these

SIPLACE Explorer V2.2 supports data from the following station software versions: 1

– SW 601.03 SP 1
– SW 505.03 SP 1

The following version is supported but if problems should occur, you will need to update it to the
version shown above. 1
– SW 503.04 SP 2; This version is only suitable if an update to SW 505.03 SP 1 is not possible
due to hardware restrictions.
