2.5 Tape Guide and Support Suppressor
2.5.1 Description of Tape Guide
For xing the tape guide, there are two ways; xing with a countersunk head
screw and with a round head screw. For each way, the applicable width and depth
of emboss pocket are different.
For using tape with
12 mm width or 24 mm width
For using tape with
12 mm width or 16 mm width or 24mm width
Fixing with a Countersunk Head Screw
(Ordinary Time)
Fixing with a Round Head Screw
(In the case that only one side
of the tape comes in contact with chute)

Fixing Method How to use
Countersunk Head Screw It is used when the tape width is changed.
Round Head Screw It is adjusted and used when only one side of the tape comes in
contact with the chute. (See Note).

Note
This screw is available when the pocket width is within the allowable range and
the tape width of 12 mm to 24 mm is used.
It is applicable for the tape condition where only one side of the tape comes in
contact with the chute, when the tape width is smaller than the JIS standards.

2.5.2 Preparation before using 16 mm, 32 mm, 56 mm width tape
If a 16 mm width tape in GT-12162 and GD-12162 or a 32 mm width tape in
GT-24322 and GD-24322 is to be used, then a tape guide and support suppressor
detachments are required.
Also, if a 56 mm width tape in GT-44562 or GD-44562 is to be used, the support
suppressor and component drop preventive cover removals and tape guide
movement are required.
•
For using tape with 16 mm width
Procedure
(1) Loosen the set screw (round head screw) with a precision screw driver to
remove the support suppressor, and then attach it onto the support suppressor
housing section.
