2.3 Restrictions
The Traystak feeder requires an operating pressure between 4.1 and 9.0 bar. 2
If the Traystak feeder is connected to the compressed air supply for the component trolley on the
placement machine (or to the compressed air connection for the bulk case feeder on the compo-
nent trolley), it is no longer possible to use a bulkcase feeder on that component trolley. 2
A compressed air branch cannot be used either, since the Traystak feeder requires a higher pres-
sure than the bulk case feeder. 2
If a head crash guard is attached (feeder cover flap), it must be removed. 2
Tape feeders may not be inserted in positions without tape guide channel. 2
The handles of the component trolley cannot be folded up on the S-2X HM and HS-XX in order to
push or pull the trolley. 2
2.3.1 SIPLACE S-25 HM / S-27 HM
Up to three Traystak feeders may be used per component table (up to 6 per S-27 HM). 2
If the Traystak feeder is used, it may not be possible to open the machine's safety doors when the
feeder is in certain positions. 2
If you are using 2
– one JTF: the tape guide channel must be removed or shortened.
– two JTFs: the tape guide channel must be removed or shortened.
– three JTFs: the tape guide channel must be removed entirely.
It is not possible to use a nozzle changer.
2.3.2 SIPLACE HS-series / HF-series / X-series
One or two Traystak feeders may be used per component table. 2
The Traystak feeder can only be used at locations 2 and 4. 2
The nozzle changer, tape guide channel and nozzle reject bin can only be used under certain cir-
cumstances. 2
If two Traystak feeders are set up on a HF-series / X-series, segment two of the Twinhead can
only pick up components from left hand Traystak feeder under certain circumstances. 2
For HS-series it is not possible to place the Traystak feeder in the center of the component trolley
by screwing. 2
For X-series with C&P20 head the Traystak feeder cannot be used. 2

For X component trolleys the Traystak feeder cannot be used. 2
2.3.3 Adapter
2
Avoid to drill through the table bed because of the modules, hoses and cables underneath. 2
2
With the S component trolleys for HF-series / X-series, the adapter and feeder cannot be fitted to
the table outside the machine, otherwise there is a risk of crashing during docking or the table
docking unit will not work. 2
The component tables must be screwed inside the machine (risk of tipping, risk of head crash).2

2.6 Safety instructions
WARNING
The safety instructions from the “Operational safety” chapter of the user manual and servicing in-
structions take precedence over these instructions. 2
The SIPLACE placement machines are supplied with mains voltage.
Consequently parts of these systems carry dangerous voltages! This voltage is present at certain
modules inside the machine base, even when the machine is switched off at the main power
switch.
Incorrect handling of the placement machine or touching live parts of the machine can result in
death or severe injury, and considerable damage to equipment.
BEFORE starting any work, shut down the operating system correctly, then switch the machine
OFF at the main power switch and disconnect from the main power supply. In addition, the com-
pressed air supply must be switched off at the compressed air unit's main valve in the machine
base and vented by actuating the needle valve on the compressed air unit.
There is DANGER for heart pacemaker wearers in the vicinity of the linear motors, as described
in detail in the "Special safety instructions for working in the vicinity of strong magnetic fields"
section of the user manual and service manual.
Always follow the accident prevention regulations, DIN or other standards and special safety
rules applicable in your country.
Pay attention to the information concerning residual voltages in the Operational Safety chapter.
Follow the ESD regulations as described in the operational safety section of the operating
instructions.
During the retrofit, always secure the machine to prevent access by other people and to prevent
it being switched on again. The procedure is described in the “Locking the machine…” section of
the user manual.
Working with the SITEST program further increases the risk of accident.
The SITEST program must only be used by authorized and trained personnel.
