3.2 Time Sync
To ensure that you can trace board production data properly at a later date, it is important that all
systems involved have synchronized time keeping. The individual times in the various systems can
be automatically synchronized with the ASM Time Sync tool.
Time Sync is a client server application, which helps to synchronize the time at all SIPLACE ma-
chines and all traceability or line computers (client) via the SIPLACE Pro computer or a central time
server (server). Time Sync is installed and configured on one particular computer as a time server
and on one or more other computers as a client.
The SIPLACE Pro line computer has proven to be an ideal time server.
NOTICE
Time Sync
After installing the Time Sync server and Time Sync client, check the settings for "Time
Sync" and correct the times where necessary, at the Time Sync client.
The current Time Sync software and software instructions can be found on the ASM Sup-
port Media, supplied with each software product.
3.3 Hardware
The following hardware configuration is recommended:

Processor: Intel Xeon E3 / Intel Core i5 or higher
●
Memory: 16 GB
●
Hard disc: 2x SSD 512 GB (or 1x SSD 256 GB and 2x HDD 512 GB)
●
Network: 1 Gbit
●
Graphic: Full HD (1920 x 1080) or higher
Less powerful configurations are possible. However, the optimum performance cannot be guaran-
teed then.
3.4 Supported Data Sources
ASM ProcessEngine 2.0 supports data from the following ASM products:

DEK Printer SW Version 09 SP16 or higher
●
ASM ProcessLens 2.2.x or higher

4 Installation
The software components that are required for ASM ProcessEngine 2.0 are available on the ASM
ProcessEngine installation CD or the Support Media.
NOTICE
Compatibilty of software components
To ensure a reliable data quality from ASM ProcessEngine, make sure that the versions of
all supported data sources match the version of ASM ProcessEngine installed. 3.4 "Suppor-
ted Data Sources" [}11]
For a first installation of ASM ProcessEngine, proceed with section 4 "Installation" [}13].
For an upgrade installation of ASM ProcessEngine, proceed with section 6 "Upgrade to Process-
Engine 2.0" [}27].
4.1 Prerequisites
Make sure that the following prerequisites are fulfilled, before the installation:

You have Windows administrator privileges to perform the installation.
●
ASM License Manager is installed on your computer. If necessary, install this software
component via the Support Media.
●
ASM Studio is installed on your computer. If necessary, install this software component via
the Support Media.
●
ASM OIB User Manger is installed on your computer if you want to deploy the ASM OIB User
Role concept to restrict the access to ProcessEngine to users that are assigned to the Pro-
cessEngineUsers role.
●
ASM ProcessEngine uses host bound licenses. You need a license for every computer on
which you want to install ASM ProcessEngine.
