New Functions in Setup Center 3.3
Support of Datalogic 2D Barcode Reader
22 Version Description SIPLACE Setup Center 3.3
5.8 Support of Datalogic 2D Barcode Reader
With SC 3.3 the Datalogic 2D barcode reader PM8500 is supported. The new barcode reader can read
2D as well as 1D barcodes.
5.9 Changing Fill Level of Previous Reel During Refill on the
Machine
Changing fill level of previous reel during refill on the machine.
During a component refill action on the line it is now possible to change the fill level of the previous reel
on the refilled track via the scanner (changing the length of previous reel).
5.10 MES-Process Interlocking Supported in Setup Center
An external Manufacturing Execution System (MES) can block and unblock material lots managed in
Setup Center.
For the whole MES-Process Interlocking solution also Traceability 3.1 and OIB 2.1 is required.
The MES Process Interlocking feature requires a license for each SIPLACE line.

v_TableInventory
v_VerificationHistory
A part of the existing interface is lost because of the omission of the views named above. Due to
the modified database scheme, however, it is not possible to offer the views any longer.
6.1.4 Windows Vista / 64 Bit Operating Systems
The WLAN modules Scalance W788/W744 cannot be configured on 64 Bit operating systems with
the PST tool.
The driver for the CAN bus card that is required for operating an X or SX docking station does not
support 64 Bit operating systems.
6.1.5 Splice Points
When using splice sensors don't repair damaged packaging units with splice because repair splice
points cannot be distinguished from the normal splice points.
Restrictions
Known Facts / Problems (General) Traceability
24 Version Description SIPLACE Setup Center 3.3
6.1.6 Traceability
The component level indicator for the machines of the S, F, HS and HF series recognizes identical
packaging unit information and ignores it. The menu field "Unique ID" must therefore always be
transferred into a Traceability data field.
The settings "Identical Component Lot for linear feeders" and "Identical Component Lot for tray
changers" store the scanned "Unique ID" in the data field "Batch". The Traceability data for the
configured "Unique Id" and "Batch" barcodes will therefore both show the "Unique ID".
6.1.7 Set-Up Sheet
Setup Center prints barcodes exclusively of the type Code-39. This type masters the following valid
characters: 0123456789 [space character]
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ-.$/+%
. Other
characters are displayed as gap in the barcode and the barcode printout are not readable.
When SIPLACE Pro 5.0 SP1 SP1 is used, the setup lists printed out do not contain graphics of the
components.
6.1.8 Recovery Placement
Due to the restart of the machine, the value for the consumption of already placed components on
the boards that are not finished yet is lost.
6.1.9 X And SX Docking Station
Before starting Setup Center all X docking stations connected via the CAN bus must be online.
Only then it is possible for Setup Center to recognize the type of the docking station correctly.
In order to verify the tracks of a changeover table with 30 tracks, the feeders must first be placed
onto tracks 31 to 60 of a 60 track wide changeover table in the docking station and then be verified.
After that, the feeders must be replaced onto the 30 track wide changeover table.
6.1.10 Mat Label
The barcode parts are invariably described in the Barcode Rules Editor.
Not all barcode parts are separately stored in the database.
But the whole barcode is always stored in the database.
6.2 Known Facts / Problems (General)
6.2.1 Update Installation
It is recommended to do a complete backup of the Setup Center database before updating to Setup
Center 3.3.
It is recommended to reduce the database to a minimum before updating to Setup Center 3.3
(in the online help see the sections for: Database, Deleting old Packaging Units Automatically).
When updating the installation at least 1.7 times the size of the Setup Center database must be
available as free disk space.
Depending on the size of the database and the hardware use the database update can take up to
several hours.
During the database upgrade the Setup Center GUI must not be started and no production must be
in progress.
