Overview of the Functions
The overview of the functions of application programs configuring each JaNets is described below.
1.2.1 Basic Editor
This is basic software of JaNets.
Basic Editor can create and optimize a production program for each machine.

Setting of the environment of the entire JaNets.
User Management
Editing operation of the registered information on each user
Setting of the operational privilege of each group.
Shopfloor Setup
Definition of the equipment configuration of the shop floor (such as a
machine, feeder and nozzle)
Setting of the environment such as a unit system.
Language Changer
Dynamic switching of the used language during execution of an application
program
Program Editor
Creation, editing and optimization of the production program (main unit
model)
Snapshot Tool
Collection and compression of an JaNets environment file
Log Control Tool
Setting of the conditions for outputting an operation log.

1.2.2 Line Manager
Line Manager is an option of Basic Editor.
The functions, which can be used when the Line Manager option is enabled, are provided with a
mark in the description or title in the document.
If the Line Manager option is added, the production program for each line can be created and
optimized in consideration of the line balance and also can perform tact simulation.
When JaNets is connected with the mounter and dispenser by LAN, it can perform online production.
And Nozzle data viewer can be available.

Definition of the equipment configuration (floor, line, machine, feeder, nozzle,
etc.) of the shop floor.
Setting of the environment such as a unit system.
Program Editor
Creation, editing and optimization of the production program (*.iss).
Job optimizer
This application performs optimization to reduce feeder setup.
Machine Program
Relater
This application program converts (relates) a production program created
with a machine into the JaNets format when necessary.
Mark Database
Control of BOC mark and area fiducial mark.
Feeder Set Database
Control of feeder set data.
Tact simulation
Simulation of production time.
Flexline CAD
This application program converts CAD data or third party’s data into the
format for JUKI. (option)
Program Downloader
This application program downloads the created production program (*.iss)
to the machine and uploads it from the machine after completion of
production.
Nozzle data viewer
Viewing usage status of ID-equipped nozzles

If the Line Manager option is added, the EPU and line can be selected for the line configuration in
the shop floor setup.
The operations of some functions may be changed depending on this line configuration setting. In
the explanation of the above, “EPU mode” is described when EPU is selected, and “line mode” is
described when the line is selected.
Only when the Line Manager option is added, it is described or is indicated for the
chapter No. in the explanation that is effective in the selected line mode.
1.2.3 External output function
This function is an option of Line Manager.
If the external output function is added, the machine information obtained from JaNets can be
output externally.
For details, refer to “Instruction Manual for the external output function.”
1.2.4 Data Manager
Data Manager is an option of Basic Editor. The descriptions and titles of functions you can use when
this Data Manager option is enabled are marked in this Manual.
Only in case of Basic Editor, its functions that can be used when a Data Manager option is installed
are different from those when two options, Line Manager are Data Mange are installed.

Some functions work differently depending on whether the setting of connection to Data Manager is
enabled or disabled. If the description is effective only when the system is connected to a server, it
is described so or is shown together with the corresponding section number.
1.2.5 Equipment Manager
Equipment Manager is an option of Line Manager. The functions, which can be used when the
Equipment Manager option is enabled, are provided with a mark in the description or title in this
document.
When you use Equipment Manager, you can use the following functions: production line
configuration including a printer and an inspection machine, online PWB production and linkage
between machines.

1.2.6 TraceMonitor
TraceMonitor is an option of Line Manager. Functions you can use when the TraceMonitor option
is enabled are described in this manual or the corresponding mark is put to the respective titles for
the functions so that you can know it immediately.
When you use TraceMonitor, it collects information on each device to accumulate the information.
When you want to just refer to information collected with JaNets with JaNets installed on another PC,
you do not need the TraceMonitor option.
