11.1.1 Starting Up the Mark Database
when the System Is Connected to a Server
If you start up the Mark Database when the system is set to be connected to a server, the
system regards the database as a server to obtain data from it.
When you select the [New] menu command or the [Open] menu command from this point, you
can switch a database to a database of .mdb files.
The [Switch to connection to the server] menu command allows you to switch the database to
the database of a server again also.

Reads the specified production program data
and obtains the data whose teaching operation
has been done successfully.

Prints mark data.
Exit Mark Database (X)
Quits the Mark Database.
Edit (E)
Rename (R)
Crl+M
Displays the “Rename” dialog box.
Delete (D)
Ctrl+D
Deletes mark data
View (V)
Program Explorer (E) *1
Displays or hides the Program Explorer.
You can select one of the following tabs of the
Program Explorer: “Manage,” “Production
Program and “Reservation File.”
Toolbar (T)
Displays/hides the toolbar.
Status Bar (B)
Displays/hides the status bar.
Database
(D)
Refresh View (I)
Obtains the latest information from the data-
base again to display the list again.
Help (H)
About (A)
Displays the version information.

Type
Displays the machine type and the number of data records. They are displayed only, and you
cannot edit them.
Mark Name
Displays the mark name. You can edit it. (Note1)
You can enter up to 8 half-width alphanumeric characters and/or symbols.
Mark Type
Displays the mark type. It is displayed only, and you cannot edit it
Mark
Shape
Displays the following mark shapes. They are displayed only, and you cannot edit any of
them.
[●], [○], [■], [□], [], [], [▲], [], [▼], [], [], [ ], [ ]
Displays a blank when a recognition type is a "binary.”
Recogni-
tion Type
Displays the recognition type (Gray Scale/Binary Scale) of the standard mark recognition
condition. It is displayed only, and you cannot edit it.
Lightness
Displays the lightness (Positive/Negative). It is displayed only, and you cannot edit it.
Breadth
Displays the size of the breadth of a mark. It is displayed only, and you cannot edit it.
Displays a blank when a recognition type is a "binary.”
Length
Displays the size of the length of a mark is displayed. It is displayed only, and you cannot edit
it.
Displays a blank when a recognition type is a "binary.”
Mark Name (You can edit it): You can enter up to 8 half-width alphanumeric characters
and/or symbols (You cannot enter a “#”). You cannot enter data to any menu item
other than this “Mark Name” menu item.
Note 1: Edit the name not directly on the cell but by the “Rename” operation.
