Operations for a control file
17.3.7.1 Checking in a file
When you select the [Check in] command on the pop-up menu displayed when you click the right
button of a mouse on the “Manage” screen, the “Check in” confirmation dialog box appears on the
screen. The list of files to be checked in among the selected files is displayed on this dialog box.
<How to check in a file>
① Put a check box in the check box(es) corresponding to a file to be checked in.
② Enter data in the “Design,” “Product” and/or “Comment” cell if you like (for a production
program in the *.iss format only). *1
③ Select the <Check in> button. The system stores the selected file(s) in the database, and
closes this dialog box.

* See Section 17.3.1.2 “Entering the ‘Design,’ ‘Product Name’ and ‘Comment’.”
* If there is a divided file, it is to be checked in together with the optimized source production
program.
* A reservation file is to be checked in together with the production programs registered in the
reservation file.
* When you check in a local (client) file, its attribute is changed to “read only.” When you check
it out, you can write it.

17.3.7.2 Types of the check-in process
Example 1)
① Check out a reservation file Z “reserveZ.rsv” (production programs O, P and Q “production
P.iss,” “productionQ.iss” and “productionS.iss” are registered in this reservation file).
② Register the production program S “productionS.iss” in a local (client) folder.
③ Check in the reservation file Z.
Figure 17.3-18 Check-in process (Example 1)
Example 2)
① Check out the optimized production program F “productionF.iss.”
② Edit the production program F in a local (client) folder to cancel its optimized condition.
③ Check in the production program F.
Figure 17.3-19 Check-in process (Example 2)
Normal check-in operation
Since the production program S (in the *.iss format) is added to the reservation
file Z, the registration process of a new production program is executed when
the reservation file Z (in the *.rsv format) is checked in.
This indicates that these files are to be deleted.
Since the production program F (in the *.iss format) optimization condition is canceled, its
association with divided files is canceled too. When you check in this production program F, the
process for deleting the controlled divided files is executed (in the database).
This indicates that this file is entryed.
